AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
AMENDING PORTIONS OF SECTION 6-2701 OF TITLE
VI (POLICE REGULATIONS) AND PORTIONS OF SECTION
10-303, 305, 306 and 308 OF TITLE X (TRAFFIC)
OF ORDINANCE NO. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO
TAXICAB ZONES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Existing subsection (C) of Section 6-2701,
Title VI (Police Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled
"Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby deleted
in its entirety.
SECTION II: Existing subsection (P) of Section 10-303,
Title X (Traffic) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 10-303 (P), as amended: Parking in Specified
Places Prohibited: No person shall park a vehicle in a Public
Carrier Zone or Stop, or in a School Zone or School Bus Zone except
as provided in this Chapter.
SECTION III: Existing subsection (D) of Section 10-305,
Title X (Traffic) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended as follows:
Section 10-305 (D), as amended: The operator of a
taxicab shall not stand or park such vehicle upon any street
or public property at any place other than in a designated
public parking area. This provision shall not prevent

the operator of a taxicab from temporarily stopping in accordance
with other stopping or parking regulations at any place for the
purpose of and while actually engaged in the expeditious loading
or unloading of passengers or their baggage.
SECTION IV: Existing subsection (B) 3 of Section 10-306
Title X (Traffic) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 10-306 (B) 3., as amended: The curbs of all areas
designated as Loading Zones and School Bus Zones shall be painted
yellow.
SECTION V: Existing subsection (A) of Section 10-308,
Title X (Traffic) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 10-308 (A), as amended: Designate Public Carrier
Zones or Stops on such public streets or properties and in such
places and in such number as he shall determine to be of the
greatest benefit and convenience to the public.
SECTION VI: This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval and thirty days after publication.
