CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ORDINANCE NO. 4003
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ESTABLISHING AN EMERGENCY SERVICES ORGANIZATION
WHEREAS under RCW 38.52.070 each political subdivision
of this State is authorized and directed to establish a local
organization for emergency services in accordance with the State
Emergency Services Plan and Program; and
WHEREAS the Department of Emergency Services of the
State of Washington has issued regulations (WAC Chapter 118-06)
regarding the establishment of such local emergency services
organizations; and
WHEREAS it is the intent of the City to comply with the
requirements of state law and the regulations adopted thereunder;
now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I:; The above recitals are found to be true and
SECTION II: Pursuant to RCW Chapter 38.52, there is
hereby established in the City of Renton an emergency services
organization for the purpose of performing local emergency services
functions. The organization shall represent only the City of
Renton and shall perform such functions only with the City.
SECTION III: The organization shall be headed by a
Director to be appointed by the Mayor. The Director shall be
directly responsible to the Mayor. The Director shall be directly
responsible for the organization, administration, -and operation
of the emergency services organization.
ORDINANCE NO. 4003
SECTION IV: The organization shall have all powers granted
under RCW 38.52 as now or hereafter amended and as may otherwise be
provided by law.
SECTION V: This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage and approval and thirty (30) days after publication.
