HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1922ORDINANCE N0. 1 22 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, JASHINGTON, CHANGING ZOAIiNG CLASSIFICATIONS OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF RENTON FROM RESIDENCE DISTRICT ( R-1) TO RESIDENCE DISTRICT (R-2), RESIDENCE DISTRICT (R-4) M IULTIPLE HOUSING) and PUBLIC USE DISTRICT (P-1) WHEREAS.under Chapter VII, Title IV (Building Regulations), of Ordinance No. 162$, known as the ttCode of General Ordinances of the City of Rentontt as amended, and the maps adopted in conjunction therewith, the properties here- inbelow described have heretofore been zoned as Residence District (R-1); and WHEREAS Under the provisions of the aforesaid Ordinance, as amended a proper petition for change of zone classification of the hereinbelow described properties has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Renton on or about September 5, 1961, which petition was then duly submitted and re -submitted to the Planning Commission for investigation, study and public hearing, and a public hearing having been held thereon on September 27, 1961 in the Council Chambers of the City of Renton, all pursuant to notice of hearing duly published and posted as provided by law; and said Planning Commission having duly considered and reconsidered and studied said petition, and having made certain recommend- ations in connection therewith and the Owner having duly amended his petition, and the Planning Commission having heard all parties appearing in support thereof or in opposition thereto and the Owner having agreed to execute a written covenant imposing certain restrictions on portions of said property as herein more particularly set forth, NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLCF.-TS: SECTION I: The following described parcels of property in the City of Renton are hereby rezoned as hereinbelow specified; the City Engineer and Planning Director are hereby authorized and directed to change the maps of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Renton to evidence said rezoning; said properties and their reclassification being described as follows: a. Lots 1, 22 3, 4, 5 and 6. Block 2, Graceland Terrace, rezoned from Residence District (R-1) to Residence District (R-2), together with Special permit to be issued by the Planning Commission in compliance with the law to regulate height, type and location of apartment units. J b. Lot 7,. Block 2, Graceland Terrace, rezoned from Residence District (R-1) to Residence District (R-2) c. Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 1, Graceland Terrace, together idth that portion of Block 13 of the Replat of Renton Highlands No. 23, lying northerly of the easterly extension of the south line of said Lot 5; Block 1, Graceland Terrace, rezoned from Residence District (R-1) to Residence District (R-4, Multiple Housing - Apartments) which rezoning shall be subject to a height limitation of any building not exceeding 45 feet but allowing for penthouse elevator structure of not to exceed 9 feet on the roof of any such building, together with 1,000 square feet of coverage for said penthouse facilities, and such restriction to be evidenced by written covenant between Owner and City which covenant shall run with the land. d. Balance of said Block 13, Except the South 150 feet thereof, of the Replat of Blocks 12, 13, 14, 36, 37 and 3$, Corrected Plat of Renton Highlands No. 2, not otherwise rezoned hereinabove, is hereby rezoned to Public Use District (P-1) and said rezoning to be subject to the laws and ordinances of the City of Renton and the written covenant of restrictions. SECTION Il: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the execution of the Owner's written covenant, passage, approval and legal publication.
