AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF RENTON FRONS PUBLIC USE (P-1) TO RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT (R-2) WHEREAS under Chapter VII, Title IV (Building Regulations), of Ordinance No, 1628, known as the."Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton". as arended, and the maps adopted in conjunction therewith, the property hereinbelow described has heretofore been zoned as Public Use Districts (P-1); and WHEREAS under the provisions of the aforesaid Ordinance, as amended, a proper petition for change of zone classification of the hereinbelow described property has been filed with the City Clerk by the Housing Authority of the City of Renton in conjunction with the establishment of a low rent housing project, and said petition for rezoning having been filed on or about December 5, 1961, and thereafter referred to the Planning Commission for investigation, study and public hearing thereon, and a public hearing having been held on December 27, 1961 in the Council Chambers of the City of Renton, all pursuant to notice of hearing duly published and posted as provided by law; and said planning commission having duly considered and studied said petition and made certain recommendations thereon and revisions thereto.and having further agreed to issue a special permit to al- low the construction of three four-plex apartment units within the property to be so rezoned, and all parties having been heard appearing in support thereof or in opposition thereto; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTOR AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: The following described property in the City of Renton is hereby rezoned to Residential District (R-2), together with a special permit to allow the construction of three four-plex apartment units within the area so re- zoned, and subject to the plans to be approved by the Planning Commission; it here- by being determined that the construction of said multiple units will not be unduly detrimental to adjacent and surrounding properties and the enjoyment thereof; the City Engineer and the Planning Director are hereby authorized and directed to change the maps of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Renton to evidence this rezoning; said property being described as follows: -1- That portion of Tracts 5A and 5C. Block 5, Corrected Plat Renton Highlands Pio. 2, lying easterly of a line extending north 4'41,001, east from the northwest corner of Tract 5B in said Block according to plat recorded in volume 57 of plats, page 92, to 98 inclusive records of King County Washington and the northerly 60:00 feet in width of tract 5B in Block 5, of Corrected Plat, Renton High- lands No. 2, according to plat recorded in volume 57, page 92 to 98 in King County, Washington. and said rezoning to be subject to the laws and ordinances of the City of Renton. SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and legal publication. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 23ra day of January, 1962.
