HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1949Z • .T' ORDINANCE N0.a.••../ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDIM THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1961 EDITION KN9dN AS CHAPTER 1, TITLE IV (BUILDING REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE NO. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO EXITS AND DOORS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Existing Section 3303 (b) of the"City of Renton Building Code" as heretofore adopted by reference, reading as follows: Section 3303 (b) Swing: Exit doors shall swing in the direction of exit travel when serving any hazardous area and when serving an occupant load of 50 or more. Plate glass doors shall have a center bar, or shall be sufficiently decorated to make door plainly visible. BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED READING AS FOLLOWS: Section 3303 (b) Swing:as amended: Exit doors shall swing in the direction of exit travel when serving any hazardous area and when serving an occupant load of 50 or more. Sliding or swinging glass doors and panels incorporated in the door assembly shall be substantially constructed of shatter proof materials. Glass used in such doors shall be tempered, laminated or wire reinforced and shall have a minimum nominal thickness of 1/4 inch conforming to Federal Specifications DD -C -451a.
