HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2019ORDINANCE NO. / 9 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGG-TON, ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE.CITY OF RENTON. WHEREAS under the provisions of R.C.W. 35.13.130, as amended by Chapter 282, Session Laws of 1961, a petition in writing requesting that certain territory contiguous to the City of Renton, as hereinafter more particularly described, be annexed to the City of Renton, was duly presented and filed with the City Clerk on or about January 29, 1963; and WHEREAS prior to the filing and circulation of said petition for annexation, the petitioning owners had duly notified the City Council of their intention to com- mence such proceedings as provided by law and upon hearing it having been determined that the petitioning owners shall not be required to assume any pre-existing bonded indebtedness of the City of Renton; and WHEREAS the City Engineer has duly examined and verified the signatures thereon and determined the assessed valuation of all the properties, the same being in excess of 75% of the area so petitioning in value as provided by law, which petition also sets forth the legal description of the property according to governmental legal sub- division or plat, and the Planning Commission of the City of Renton having duly con- sidered and recommended the annexing of said property to the City; and WHEREAS a Board of Review was duly called but its proceedings dispensed with as provided by law, and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Renton fixed March 18, 1963 at the City Council Chambers in the City Hall as the time and place for public hearing upon said petition, notice thereof having been given as provided by law; and WHEREAS pursuant to such notice,oa public hearing has been held by the City Council at the time and place specified in the aforesaid notice, and the Council having duly considered all matters in connection with said petition, and the Council having further determined that all legal requirements and procedures of the law had been complied with; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: It is hereby determined that the abovementioned petition for annexa- tion to the City of Renton of the property and territory hereinbelow described be and it Lt is hereby approved and granted; the following described property being contiguous to he City Limits of the City of Renton, situated in King County, State of Washington, -1- be and the same z s. hereby annexed to the City of Renton and such annexation to be effective on and after the approval, passage and publication of this Ordinance, and on and after said date said territory shall constitute a part of the City of Renton and shall be subject to all its laws and ordinances then and thereafter in force; said property being described as follows: All that portion of the Northwest one—quarter of Section 7, Township 23 North, Range 5 East, W.M. described as follows: Lots 9 to 20 inclusive, Block 35; Lots 7 to 17 inclusive Block 36; all of Block 39 and Lots 12 to 24 inclusive Block 40; all,in Bryn Mawr Addition as recorded in Volume 5 of Plats, Page 58, Records of King County, Washington; together with vacated streets and alleys adjoining; also, together with that portion of Primary State Highway No. 5 (Rainier Avenue) lying North of the South line of the Northwest one—quarter of said Section 7, and South of the production east of North line of Lot 7, Block 36, said Bryn Mawr Addition. SECTION II: The above described annexed property contiguous to Precinct No. of the City of Renton shall be and constitute a part of Precinct No._ of said City. SECTION III: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law. A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the Board of County Commissioners of King County, State of Washington, and as otherwise provided by law.
