L' AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON AUTHORIZIM AND PROVIDING FOR COMBINING THE CITY'S SEWERAGE SYSTEM AND STORM SYSTEM WITH THE CITY'S WATER SYSTEM. WHEREAS the CITY OF RENTON is now and has for many years last past been operating and maintaining a municipal water system as well as a municipal sewerage system, and WHEREAS the CITY has heretofore specified and adopted a system or plan of additions to and betterments and extensions of the water works utility of the CITY OF RENTON, including the sewerage system as a part thereof and pursuant thereto authorized the issuance and sale of municipal revenue bonds, usually referred to as "CITY OF RENTON Water and Sewer Revenue Bonds" particular reference being made to Ordinance Nos. 1156, 1157, 1173, 1299, 14503 1489 and 1766 pursuant to which the CITYtS sewerage system was combined with and made a part of the CITY'S water works utility, and all the foregoing being in compliance with R.C.W. 35.67.320 et seq; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: The foregoing findings and recitals are hereby found to be true and correct in all respects. SECTION II: The CITY OF RENTONtS sewerage system is hereby determined to consist of the combined sanitary sewage disposal and storm or surface water sewers, pursuant to R. C. W. 35.67.010, together with all additions, extensions and betterments thereto and.same-are hereby made and confirmed as a part of the CITY'S municipal water system so that the CITYtS water and sewage funds be consolidated and combined into one fund to be known hereafter as the "Water Works Utility Fund', but separate and distinct subsidiary records shall be kept at all times for cost or statistical purposes between said funds and the existingsewerage system, as hereinabove defined, including all additions, extensions and betterments thereto, including all revenues derived therefrom, shall be and become.a part of said Water Works Utility. In the event, however, that revenue bonds are issued at any time to provide funds to pay part or all of the cost of acquiring, constructing, or installing storm or surface water sewers, or any part thereof necessary for the proper and efficient operation of a system of sanitary sewage disposal and treatment, or the proper and efficient operation of a combined system of sanitary sewage and storm or surface water disposal and treatment, the principal of and interest on such bonds may only be paid from revenues derived from charges made for sanitary sewage disposal service and no charges shall be made for storm or surface water removal, -2 - and2r and as further provided for in R.C.W. 35.67.192. SECTION III: The City Treasurer, the City Clerk and Superintendent of Utilities are hereby authorized and directed to provide for the necessary transfer and proceedings in the books, records, and accounts of the CITY to effectuate the combining of said systems and the Water Works Utility Fund created therefor. SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage, approval and legal publication as provided by law. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this ---9-.f,& day of March, 1963.
