CHAPTER 3 (FIRE ZONES) OF TITLE VII (FIRE REGULATIONS)
OF ORDINANCE NO. 162F ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF R EIS TO1t" ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON
AS FOLLCFS:
SECTION I Existing Section 7-302 (FIRE ZONES) of Title VII (FIRE REGU-
LATIONS) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City
of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 7-302 - As Amended: FIRE ZONES: The City is hereby divided into
three types of fire zones, to -wit: Fire Zones 1, 2 and 3 and the same are designated
and described as follows:
(a) FIRE ZONE 1: Fire Zone 1 shall include and consist of the areas
designated as such in slid map or book of maps. Buildings -or
structures hereafter erected, constructed or moved within or
into Fire lone 1 shall be only Type I, II, III or IV construction
as defined in the City of Renton Building Code.
(b) FIRE ZONE 2: Fire Zone 2 shall include and consist of the areas
designated as such in said map or book of maps. Buildings or
structures hereafter erected, constructed or moved within or
into Fire Zone 2 shall be only Type I, II, III, IV or V con-
struction as defined in the City of Fenton Building Code.
(c) FIRE LONE 3: Fire Zone 3 shall include and consist of the areas
designated as such in said map or book of maps. Buildings or
structures hereafter erected, constructed or moved within or
into Fire Zone 3 shall comply with the applicable requirements
of the City of Renton Building Code.
RESTRICTIONS IN FIRE ZONE 3: Buildings and structures that .
hereafter shall be erected, constructed or moved within or into
Fire Zone 3 shall be constructed in accordance with the require-
ments of Fire Zone 1 with the EXCEPTIONS OF: Single Family
Dwellings, Multiple Unit Dwellings, Hotels and Motels, not more
than two stories in height and having a gross floor area not
greater than 4_500 square feet for Type V -N construction as defined
in the City of Renton Building Code.
SECTION Ii: Section 7-303 relating to Fire Lanes is hereby repealed.
SECTION III: All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval and legal publication.
