WHEREAS owners of property in Maplewood Divisions No. 1 and)2in
:King County have filed, under the p visions of Chapter 128 Laws of
1945 of Wshington, with the Clerk of the City of Renton a ��oetition for
ANNEXATION�to the City of Renton of.said Maplewood Division No. 1 and
Maplewood Division No. 2 and certain adjacent territory, said petition
containing a legal description of the property proposed for annexation
accompanied by a plat or drawing outlining the boundaries of the property
sought to be annexed, which petition was presented to the City Council
of Renton at its regular meeting October 7, 1947, and by vote of the
Council accepted for consideration and referred to the City Engineer for
verification of its validity as to required signatures; and
WHEREAS the City Engineer -has approved the validity and sufficiency
of signatures thereon, being signed by the owners of more than seventy—
five per cent (75%) in value according to the assessed valuation of the
property for which annexation is therein petitioned, and meeting the
requirements of aforesaid law, now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS:
1. That said petition for annexation be entertained by the Council;
That Tuesday the 18th day of November, 1947, be and is hereby fixed as
the date for a public hearing on said petition, said hearing to be held
at 8:00 P.M., on said date, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in
the City of Renton, Washington.
2. That notice of said hearing be published in one issue of the
Renton Chronicle a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Renton,
and shall also be posted in three (3) public places within the territory
which said petition proposes for annexation, and said notice shall specify
the aforesaid time and place of such public hearing and shall invite all
interested persons to appear thereat and voice approval or disapproval of
the proposed annexation; that the expenses of said publication and posting
be borne by the signers of said petition as required by aforesaid law.
