HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 0693RESOLUTION NO. b r WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Renton have heretofore at special election voted in favor of advancement of said City from third class to second class classification, and pursuant thereto, necessary procedure has been followed for certifying the results of said election, to the King County Board of Commissioners, and to the Secretary of the State of Wa hington, and it is now necessary that officers of said City be elected Under the laws of Washington governing cities of the second class NOW, T HEREFOIE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENT ON : 1. That the annual municipal primary and general election to be held in the City of Renton during the year 1948, shall be held, conducted and governed in all respects under the laws of Washington pertaining to and governing cities of the second class. 2. That the officers of the City of Renton to be nominated and elected at such annual municipal primary and general election. shall be those officers whose election is provided for by the laws of Washington pertaining to and governing second class cities. 3. That such annual municipal elections, primary and general, be conducted under the supervision of the King County Supervisor of Elections as by law provided, and that the City Clerk of Renton accept filing of candidacies fot elective positions at said elect- ions, and certify to the King County Supervisor of Elections the offices to be filled and the candidates for same, all in the manner and at the time provided by law and determined by said King County Supervisor of Elections.
