THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON� WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: Existing Section 4-702 Definition of Title IV (Building Regulations) or Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby I amended by adding the following subsections (R): Section 4-702(R)5: RECYCLING, COLLECTION STATION: A container or containers for the collection of secondhand goods and recyclable materials. Section 4-702(R)6: RECYCLING, COLLECTION CENTER: A collection point for small recyclable items, such as cans, bottles. newspapers, and secondhand goods. Activities shall be limited to sorting. compaction and transferring. Section 4-702(R)7: RECYCLING� PROCESSING CENTER: A facility where collected recyclable items are brought for processing including changing the form of materials. SECTION II: Existing Section 4-704(B)(2)� G-1 General Zone of Title IV (Building Regulations) or Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended by adding the following subsection (e): Section 4-704(B)�eZ: Recycling collection stations provided the following conditions have been complied with: (1) The collection station is accessory to a public or quasi-public use. (2) The collection station is portable and temporary (not to exceed 90 calendar days out of each year). (3) The collection station is not located on any public right-of-way unless a right-of-way use permit is granted by the Board of Public Works. (4) The property owners or managers shall keep the area surrounding the recycling collection station maintained and clean of debris. SECTION III: Existing Section 4-704(B)(3) of Title IV (Building Regulations) or Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended by adding the following subsection (g): Section 4-704(B)(3)(�: Recycling collection station in conjunction with an approved public or quasi-public use when the collection station is utilized for more than 90 days per calendar year. SECTION IV: Existing Section 4-706(B)(2). SECTION XII: Existing Section 4-711(B)(2), B-1 Business District of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended by adding the following subsection (e): Section 4-711(Bl(2)(e�: Recycling collection stations provided the structure is not located within any required setback and/or landscaped area. SECTION XIII: Existing Section 4-711(B)(1)c, B-1 Business District of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended by adding the following subsection (21): Section 4-711(B)(l)(c 21 : Recycling collection centers. SECTION XIV: Existing Section 4-712(A), L-1 Light Industry District of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended by adding the following subsections (22) and (23): Section 4-712(A)(22): Recycling collection stations. Section 4-712(A)(23): Recycling collection centers. Section XV: Existing Section 4-713(A), Heavy Industry District of Title IV(Building Regulations) of Ordinance No.1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended by adding the following subsections (47) and (48) (47) Recycling Collection Stations as accessory uses provided the structure is not located within any required setback and/or landscaped area. (48) Recycling collection centers are permitted provided the processing of materials shall be limited to sorting. compaction, and transferring of secondhand goods and recyclable materials.
