'WHEREAS the United States Public Health Service acting
under Public Law No. 845, adopted by the 80th Congress on June
307 1948, proposes to furnish financial and technical assistance
to the States and political -subdivisions thereof in the formulation
and execution of water pollution control programs NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RENTON:
That the legislature of the State of Washington be and is
hereby ( equested)to enact appropriate State legislation to enable
cities of this State to qualify for and to receive the4benefits
of such financial and technical assistance as may be available
through the (United States Public Health Service)under aforesaid
Public Law No. 845. That a'copy of this Resolution be by the
Clerk forwarded to the Chairmen of the State Senate and House
Committees on Cities and Counties.
Passed by the City Council this eighth day of February 1949.
