WHEREAS a proper claim has been filed with the City Clerk by
and on behalf of (Mrs. A.) Katherine Neuberger, for damages sustained
by her in the amount of $9.55, by reason of a fall sustained by her
December 279 1948, caused by defective and broken sidewalk in the
400 block on Pelly Avenue in the City of Renton; and
WHEREAS upon due investigation it is found that said claimant
did then and there fall by reason of tripping on broken sidewalk and
sustained the f ollowing.damages:
Eye glasses broken $6.35
1 pair '-,_hose ruined 1.70
1 dress damaged 1.50

and it will be economical and to the best interests of the City to
make settlement and payment of said claim without litigation, said
claimant in consideration thereof waiving other or further claim
for personal injuries, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED and ORDAINED by the City Council and the Mayor
of the City of Renton:
SECTION I: That the sum of $9.55.be paid to (Mrs. A.) Katherine
Neuberger, claimant aforesaid, in full compromise settlement and
satisfaction of all claims and demands accrued or to arise by
reason of personal injuries or property damage sustained by her as
result of said Katherine Neuberger tripping and falling on broken
sidewalk in the 400 block on Pelly Avenue in the City of Renton
on the 27th day of December, 1948, said sum to be paid in considera-
tion of said claimant's releasing and satisfying all claims against
the City of Renton growing out of the foregoing.
SECTION 2: The sum of $9.55 is hereby appropriated and
ordered paid from the current expense fund (consultants and contingen-
cies budget item) for the foregoing purpose.
