' AN ORDINANCE QF THE CITY QF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF RENTON

WHEREA5 under the provi�ions of RCW 35A.14 ,120, as amended,
I a petition in writing reguesting that certain territory cantiguaus I
ta the City of Renton, as described belaw, be annexed to the City af ��

-- April 20 , 1981, �nd resubmitted on October 10, 1984 ; and I

a WHEREAS priar ta �.he filing and circulation of said petition j

� far annexation ta the City of Renton, the petitianing owners natified
the Ci�.y Council af their intention to commence such proceedings as
i pravided by law, and as more particulary speci�ied in RCW 35 .13 . 125
and upon public hearing therean, it having been determined and the
pe�itioning owners having agreed to assume the pre-existing bonded
indebtedness of the City of Renton as it pertains to the territory
�titioned to be annexed� and to accept that portion af the City' s
Comprehensive Plan as it pertains to the territory including the
applicable zoning code relating thereto; and
WHEREAS the Palicy Development Department has examined and
verified the assessed valuation of all the properties, the same being
in excess of seventy-five percent (7S�} of the area to be annexed,
in value as provided by law and the petitian also setting forth the
legal description of the property according to government legal
�ubdivision ar plat and the Policy Development Department of the
City of Rentan having considered and recommended the annexing of said .
property to the City af Rentan; and

WHEREAS the City Council fixed May 6, 19$5 at 8 :00 P.M. as
the time and place for public hearing in the City Cauncil Chambers,
City Hall, Renton, Washington, upon the petition and natice �hereof
having been given as provided by law; and
WHEREAS pursuant to said natice a public hearing has been
held at the time and place specified in the notice and the Councii
having cansidered all matters in connection with the petition ancl
Mfurther determined that all legal requirements and procedures of

C the law applicable ta the petitian method far annexatian as specified
a in RCW 35 .13.130 et seq have been complied with; and

pp WHEREAS a "Notice of Intention" having been filed with the
King County Boundary Review Board as required by 1aw, and the Boundary I
Review Board having waived its jurisdictian as per its letter dated
September 6, 1985 'I
NOW THEREFC}RE, THE CITY COt7NCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTZON I: The findings, recitals ancl determinations are I
hereby found to be true and correct in all respects; aIl requirements j
of the law in regard to the annexation by petition method, including
the pravisions o£ RCW 35.13 .125, 13Q, 14Q, 150 and Chapter 189,
Session Laws of 1967, have been complied with. It is further determined I
that the petition for annexation ta the City of Rentan of �.he property I
and territory described below is hereby appraved and granted; the I
following described praperty being cantiugous to the City Limits of
the City of Renton, is hereby annexed to the City of Renton and such
annexation to be effective an and after the approval, passage and

publication of this Ordinance; and on and after said date the property
shall constitute a part of the City of Renton and shall be subject
to all its laws and ordinances then and thereafter in force and
effect; the property being described as follows: I�
See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part
hereof as if fully set forth herein
� (Said property located south of N.E. 4th Street I
� and West of Duvall Avenue N.E. )

"' and the owners-petitioners of the property shall assume the pre-

existing bonded indebtedness of the City of Renton as prescribed in

� RCW 35 .13 . 126 as it ertains to the ro ert
p p p y, and the property to be
subject to the City' s Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code .
SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval and five days after its publication.
A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the
King County Council, State of Washington, and as otherwise provided
by law.
SECTION III: The annexed property, contiguous to Precinct
No. 11-71 of the City of Renton shall be and constitute a part of the
Precinct No. 11-71of said City.
