RESOLUTION NO.. 805
i+VHEREAS, the Great Northern Railway Compan has applied to the
Interstate Commerce Commission for authority to acquire control of the
Pacific Coast R. R. Co by purchase of all of the capital stock of that
company, which has been docketed by the Interstate Commerce Commission
as Finance Docket No. 17134; and
FEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton, has informed
itself concerning the proposed transaction, and finds that the approval
of the application by the Interstate Commerce Commission will be of direct
benefit to the City of Renton, the surrounding community and shippers lo-
cated therein, and will be in the public interest, as control of the Paci-
fic Coast R. R. Co., by the Great Northern .Railway Company will foster the
industrial development of the Renton area, will assure the continuation
of the operations of the Pacific Coast R. R. Co., and will lead to an im-
provement in service by the Pacific Coast R. R. Co.,. NOW THEREFORE,
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RENTO N :

That the City of Renton give its full u1pport for'\the the hearing to be held before the Interstate Commerce Commis-
sion in Seattle on April 6, 1951, and that the Interstate Commerce Com-
mission be advised of the position of the City of Renton and to file a
copy of this Resolution in said proceedings.
