HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 0962RESOLUTION N0. �6 WHEREAS, the City of Renton, a Municipal Corporation under the laws of the State of Washington, a City of the Second'Class, had heretofore under date of April 28, 1922, acquired certain properties, including that certain parcel of land hereinbelow described, and commonly known as the City of Renton "Septic Tank.Site", an area of app. one�half acre, more or less, and WHEREAS, said 'Septic Tank Site" has become obsolete and unusable and has not been of any public benefit or use for many years past;and WHEREAS, .said parcel of property is land -locked and -cannot be used for any municipal or public purpose; and WHEREAS, an appraisal has heretofore been made of the value of the hereinbelow described property which appraisal is. considered fair and equitable and a purchaser being available to pay unto the.City the appraised price of said property, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: The City Council hereby finds the above facts and recitals to be true and correct in all respects; that the belowdescribed parcel ofla.nd is no longer of any public use and benefit and is hereby declared to be surplus property. SECTION II: The.Mayor and City Clerk .are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver a Quit Claim .Deed unto Robert L..Edwards and Jane I..Edwards, his wife, in consideration of the sum of $2,250.00 paid to the City in cash, for the sale and purchase of the following described property, commonly known as the City of Renton "Septic Tank Site", to -wit: A tract of land located in the S.E. one-fourth (k) of the S.W. one-fourth"() Section 18, Township 23, N. R. 5:E.W.M. and de- scribed as follows: Beginning at a point on the produced center line of Sixth Avenue in the Town of.Renton, one thousand seventy- six feet West of the West line of Shattuck Street; thence South at right angles one hundred and twenty-one feet; thence West at __ L .r.:?right�ahgles one hundred and ninety five feet to the East bank of Black River; thence Northeasterly along the.East bank of Black River one hundred twenty four and 661100 feet to a point one hun- dred and twenty one feet North of the South boundary of the tract described; thence East one hundred and sixty five feet to the point of beginning containing one half acre; and the City Clerk to be further. authorized to affix the necessary Revenue Stamps «1- if any, to said Deed, as required by law. i It PASSED BY THE.
