RESOLUTION NO. 967
WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as
Agents of and for the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of
the United States of America, is desirous of constructing a Federal Aid Project
DU -020-1 (1) through the City of Renton and is desirous of routing
the traffic on said improvement through said City of Renton fiver
Primary State Highway No. 2 -RE, Third Avenue from Morris Street to Burnett Streetp
and crossing other certain intersecting streets and public thoroughfares, and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington is desirous
of receiving Federal funds for the improvement of said Primary State Highway
No. 2 RE, Morris Street to Burnett Street, and
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of America will not participate in the construction of said
Primary State Highway No. 2 -RE, Dorris Street to Burnett Street until
and unless the City of Renton will agree to refrain from permitting
encroachments upon the right of way of said above-mentioned streets;
NOW, THEREFORE, EE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City
of Renton that for and in consideration of the Department of Highways
of the State of Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of
Commerce of the United States of America constructing said Primary �State
Hiehwav No. 2 -RE. Morris Street to Burnett Street and routing traffic on the
same through the um or Renton over
Third Avenue
and crossing other certain intersecting streets and public thoroughfares, it
hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the State of Washington and
the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the United States
of America that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on the right
of way of the said above mentioned streets.
