WHEREAS the Library Board of the City of Renton has unanimously proposed
the construction of a new library building to be located on the hereinafter described
property, including the present library site and,
WHEREAS the Renton Planning Commission had heretofore proposed certain
changes and modifications in order to provide adequate off-street parking facilities in
conjunction with such library site, and
i.HEREAS, the Library Board together with the City Park Board have heretofore
agreed on the joint usage of certain properties for parking and other purposes, and .
.'MEREAS such agreement and pian comply with the overall or comprehensive pian
of the City of Renton for the development of the "Library Park Area" in which the pre-
sent library is located, NO'.1 THERLFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS
FOLLG-NS :
SECTION I: The above facts and recitals are hereby found to be true and
correct in all respects; it is hereby determined that the following described property
is proper and adequate for the proposed construction of a new library and is in con-
formity and compliance with the City's overall plan for development of the "Liberty
Park Area" to -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the line of Garden Avenue in
The City of Renton, extended South, with the Southeaster I y I i ne of
Bronson Way North in said City; thence South 00181W 1.9.25 feet;
thence North 90018' W 103 feet; thence South 1,052'10" E 130.57 feet;
thence South 138007'50" VJ 183.11 feet to the Southeasterly margin line
of Bronson Way North; thence North 45059130" E along said margin line
to the true point of beginning# The described property is all within
Government Lot 4 in Section 17, Township 23 North, Range 5 East 4,1.61,.,
all located in Renton, King County, Washington
SECTION ;li: That all proper action should now be taken by the Library Board,
together with application to the Housing and Home Finance Agency, an agency of the U.S,
Government, to proceed with the necessary planning of said new library site and to take
any and all further action incidental thereto. It is further found that all Boards and
Commissions of the City of Renton having jurisdiction hereover are in agreement with
said pian as above specified.
