ORDINANCE NO. 1389
AN ORDINANCE creating and establishing Fire Zones.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RENTON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I.
1. This Ordinance shall be known as the "Fire Zoning
Ordinance"
2. This Ordinance shall consist of the text hereof and
of that certain map or book of maps identified by the approving
signature of the Mayor and the City Clerk on the title page and
marked and designated as the Map or Maps of the Fire Zoning Ordi-
nance of the City of Renton, which map or book of maps is now 'on
file in the office of the City Clerk of this City. Said map or
book of maps has been heretofore examined in detail by the City
Council and the same with any revisions of or additions to the
same hereafter adopted or filed with the City Clerk, are hereby
adopted as a part of this Ordinance, and by this reference incor-
porated herein. Said Ordinance and each and all of its terms is
to he read and interpreted in the light of the contents of said
map or book of maps. If any conflict between the map or book of
maps and the text of this Ordinance is deemed to arise, the text
of the Ordinance will prevail.
SECTION II.
1. The City of Renton is hereby divided into four
types of fire zones, to -wit, Fire Zones 1, la, 2 and 3.
2. Fire Zone 1 shall include and consist of the areas
designated as such in said Map or Book of Maps. Buildings or
structures hereafter erected, constructed, or moved within or
into Fire Zone 1 shall be only of Type I, II, or III construction,
as defined in the "City of Renton Building Code" established by
Ordinance No. 1307.
3. Fire Zone la shall include and consist of the areas
designated as such in said Map or Book of Maps. Buildings or
structures hereafter erected, constructed, or moved within or
into Fire Zone la shall be only of Types I, II, III or IV con-
struction as defined in the "City of Renton Building Code" es-
tablished by Ordinance No. 1307.
4. Fire Zone 2 shall include and consist of the areas
designated as such in said Map or Book of Maps. Buildings or
structures hereafter erected, constructed, or moved within or
into Fire Zone 2 shall be of types 1, II , III ., IV, or V con-
struction as defined in the "City of Renton Building Code`,\Ies
tablished by Ordinance No. 1307.
5. Fire Zone 3 shall include and consist of the ar`as
designated as such in said Map or Book of Maps. Buildings or
structures hereafter erected, constructed, or moved within or
into Fire Zone 3 shall comply with the applicable requirements
of the "City of Renton Building Code" established by Ordinance
No. 1307.

SECTION III
1. Any person, firm or corpo:mtion who violates, dis-
obeys, omits, neglects, or refuses to comply with, or who resists
the enforcement of any provisions of this Ordinance, shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
SECTION IV.
Any parts of Ordinance No. 1307 and the "City of Renton
Building Code", or of other ordinances, which are in conflict
with this Ordinance, are superseded hereby. This Ordinance shall
take effect and be in force five days from and after its passage,
approval and regular publication.
