HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1391ORDINANCE NO. 1391 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY EXISTS AND -APPROPRIATING MONIES FROM THE VARIOUS CITY FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT OF THE NECESSARY EXPENSES AND CAPITAL OUTLAY NECESSITATED BY SUCH EMERGENCY. WHEREAS,, since the adoption of the 1950 annual budget of the City of Renton, it has become necessary to provide for the purchase of cer- tain services, materials and structures, and to meet other expenses, all of which were not forseeable at the time of the adoption of the 1950 budget; including necessity of providing for payment of assess- ments against certain City properties, purchase of additional electric- al power requirements, repair of municipal welter tank, and improvement of Airport to meet needs of the national emergency; AND WHEREAS, it is necessary for the proper administration, oper- ation and maintenance of the City and its departments, to appropriate funds for and out of the several City funds as hereinafter set forth, for the payment of such expenses and capital outlay, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASH- INGTON: SECTION 1: That the foregoing recitals and facts are hereby found and determined by the City Council to be true and existing, and by rea- son thereof the Council does hweby declare that an emergency exists. .SECTION 2: That there be and hereby are allowed and established the following sums for expenditure in each of the following classifica- tions established in said 1950 budget, and said sums are appropriated for expenditure in the following classifications, same being in addi- tion to the provisions of said 1950 annml budget, to -wit: DEPA RTMENT OPERATION CAPITAL AND FUND AND MAINT. OUTLAY TOTAL CURRENT EXPENSE FUND Taxes and Assessments 3,500.00 WATER DEPARTMENT FUND Power 2,000.00 Water tank & appurtenances AIRPORT FUND Power and water 6,000.00 Improvement of Airport runways and areas Purchase of hangar structures W 8,000.00 7,150.00 16,500.00 3, 500.00 2..000.00 8,000.00 6,000.00 7,150.00 16,500.00 $11j,500.00 $31..650.00 $43,150.00 SECTION 3: This ordinance is an emergency ordinance which shall not be voted upon until one week shall have elapsed after its intro- duction, and a copy thereof shall be published as a proposed Ordinance, together with a notice of the time set for voting thereon. SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication.
