HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1410ORDINANCE NO. 1410 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, PROVIDING FOR THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN PR) PERTY WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF RENTO N, WASHINGTON, TO STONEWAY DOCK COMPANY, A CORPORATION. WHEREAS, the City of Renton, a municipal corporation, has certain right, title and interest in certain property described as follows: Pumping plant site described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the southerly margin of the Renton -Maple Valley Highway No. 1140 with the East-West center line of said section 17; thence southeasterly along said southerly margin 320 feet to the true point of beginning; thence southwes- terly .at right angles to said southerly margin 100 feet; thence southeast and parallel to said southerly margin 50 feet; thence northeasterly at right angles to said southerly margin 100 feet to said southerly margin; thence northwesterly along said southerly margin 50 feet to the true point of beginning; all in Govt.Lot 7 of Sec.17,Twp. 23 N. Range 5 E.W.M. Well Site.described as follows: That portion of Government Lot 7, in Section 17, Township 23 North, Range 5 East, W.M., dexcribed as follows: Commencing at the point of intersection of the east line of said Government Lot 7 with the southerly margin of the Renton -Maple Valley Highway No. 1140; thence northwesterly along said southerly margin of said Renton-Meple Valley Highway, a distance of 40 feet; thence southwesterly at right angles with said southerly margin to the waterts edge at the right bank of the Cedar River; thence continuing at said right angle a distance into the stream 10 feet from the waterts edge; thence upstream parallel to and 10 feet distant from the waterts edge at the right bank to an intersection with the east line of said Government lot 7 produced southerly; thence north along said east line produced southerly on said east line of Government lot 7 to the point of beginning,all the above in King County, State of Washington; and WHEREAS said property is of little, if any, value or benefit to the City of Renton and is not usable or needed for any purpose whatever, public or otherwise; and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Renton has caused to be issued a call for bids for the sale afid conveyance of the above described real property and has provided for the submission and opening of bids at the regular Oouncil meeting on lith day of Sep- tember 1951 at the hour of 8 P.M. and the City Clerk having been directed to give notice as provided by law; and HHEREAS the City Clerk has duly caused notice to be published in the manner provided by law and WHEREAS a bid was duly submitted, filed and heard by the City Council at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Renton on the 11t1a day of September 1951, at 8 P.M., said bid containing an offer to pur- chase the right, title and interest of the City of Renton in the above described property for the total sum of NINE HUNDRED SEVEN & 50/100 ($907.50) Dollars, purchaser also to pay and assume the costs of publi- shing said call for bids in the sum of NINE & 98/100 ($9,98) Dollars and the sum of NINE & 08/100 ($9.08) Dollars for real estate tax due on said transaction; the City Council having found and determined that said sum of NINE HUNDRED SEVEN & 50/100 (907.50) Dollars represents the fair and reasonable market value of the above described property, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON: That the said actions and findings of City Council and City Clerk be gnd are hereby ratified and confirmed in all respects and the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Renton are hereby fully authorized and empowered to execute a Quit Claim Deed and any other documents necessary to such conveyance unto STONEWAY DOCK COMPANY, a cop oration, under the laws of the State of Washington, for and in consideration of the net sum of NINE HUNDRED SEVEN & 50/100 ('907.50) Dollars, conveying and quitclaim- ing ani and all right, title and interest of the City of Renton, a muni- cipal corporation, in the following described property: Pumping plant site described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the southerly margin of the Renton -Maple Valley Highway No. 114D with the East-West center line of said section 17; thence southeasterly along said southerly margin 320 feet to the true point of beginning; thence southwesterly at tight angles to said southerly margin 100 feet; thence southeast and parallel to said southerly margin 50 feet; thence northeasterly at right angles to said southerly margin 100 feet to said southerly margin; thence northwesterly along said southerly margin 50 feet to the true point of beginning; all in Govt.Lot 7 of Sec.17,Twp. 23 N.Range 5 E.W.TJ.
