AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON2 KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON
RELATING TO DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PLACING
OF THE MATTER OF THE ADOPTION OF DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BY THE
CITY OF RENTON, ON THE BALLOT AT THE NEXT MUNICIPAL ELECTION..
WHEREAS, for the past several years the matter of whether or not the
City of Renton should have daylight saving time during certain months of
each year has become controversial; and
WHEREAS, the members of the City Council of the City of Renton have
concluded that the matter of whether or not the City of Renton shall have
daylight saving time annually during certain months, should be placed be-
fore the voters of the City of Renton at the next Municipal election to be
held in the City of Renton; NOW THEREFOREI
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON:
Section 1: That the City Clerk of the City of Renton be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to certify the following proposition to the
King County Auditor, Attention of the Superintendent of Elections, with the
request that same be placed on the official Municipal ballot of the City of
Renton, King Countyt Washington, at the next .Municipal election to be held
within the said City? to -wit:
"Shall the City of Renton annually adopt Daylight Saving Time
in conformity with the City Councilts jurisdiction as to the
months for which the same shall be in effect$ in conformance
with the provisions of Ordinance No; 1420 of the City of
Renton?"

Section 2: That should the vote be favorable$ it shall be within the
jurisdiction of the City Council to annually determine those months during
which daylight saving time shall be in force within the City of Renton.
Section 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its approval, passage and publication.
