HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1483ORDINANCE NO. 1483 4% ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF RENTON. wi. _ 4 WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 128 of the 1945 Session Laws of the State of Washington, a petition in writing requesting that certain property contiguous to the city limits of the City of Renton, hereinafter more particularly described, be annexed to the City of Renton, was presented and filed with the City Council on the 9th day of March, 1954,bearing the signatures of the owners of more than seventy-five (75� per cent in value according to the assessed valuation for general taxa- tion of the property for which annexation is petitioned herein, to -wit 100 per cent, which petition sets forth the legal description of the property according - to government legal sub -division or plats, and is accompanied by plat or drawing outlining the boundaries of the territory petitioned to be annexed; and the Planning Commission ofwthe City of Renton having considered and recommended the annexing of said property to the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton by r eselttion adopted at its regular meeting on April 20, 1954, fixed Tuesday, May 182 1954, at 8 oiclock P.M. at the City Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Renton, Washington, as the time and place for public hearing upon said petition, and a notice of said hearing specifying the time and place thereof, inviting all interested persons to appear thereat and voice approval or disapproval of or objections to the proposed annexation, has been duly published as provided by law, and true copies of said notice have been duly posted in three public places -Vi thin the territory proposed for annexation more than one week prior to said date of hearing; and WHEREAS, pursuant to such resolution and notice, a public hearing on said petition has been held by the City Council of Renton at the time and place specified in aforesaid notice, to -wit, May 18, 1954, at 8 o'clock P.M. and no objections, written or oral, to the proposed annexation having been filed and made at such hearing and the City Council of the City of Renton having duly considered said petition; now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF RENTON, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Pursuant to provisions of Chapter 128 of the 1945 Session Laws of the State of Washington, it is determined that the above mentioned petition for annexation to the City of Renton of the property and territory hereinbelow described be and it is hereby approved and granted, and the following described property being contiguous to the city limits of the City of Renton situated in King County, State of Washington, be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Renton, effective on and after the 3rd day of June, 1954, and on and after that date said territory shall constitute a part of the City of Renton and shall be subject to all the laws and ordinances of the City of Renton 6hen thereafter enforced; said property being described as follows: That portion of the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 9, Township 23 North, Range 5, E.W.M., more parti- cularly described as follows: Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Section 9, thence south 00571211/ west 663.24 feet; thence south 88055137" east 30 feet to point of true beginning; thence south 88055'37" east 289.64 feet to the west line of Renton Highlands, according to plat thereof recorded in Vol. 46 of Plats, Page 34, records of said county; thence south 0047105" west to the northeasterly margin of the Sunset Boulevard; thence follow- ing the northerly margin of said Sunset Boulevard in a northwest- erly direction to the east margin of 116th Avenue S.E., thence north 0059,21" east 124.73 feet to point of true beginning, situated in King County, State of Washington. Section 2: The above described annexed property contiguous to Precinct No. 23 of Ward 1 of the City of Renton, shall be and constitute a part of Precinct No. -22 of Ward 1 of said City of Renton. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law; and said annexation shall be effective on and after the 3rd day of June, 1954; and a certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the Board of County Commissioners of King County, Washington, and with such other governmental agencies as is provided by law.
