WASHINGTON, REGULATING TRAFFIC AND DEFINING DUTIES OF PEDESTRIANS THERETO 191THIN CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREETS, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLA- TION THEREOF. BE TT ORDAINED BY THE 1NAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON: SECTION I. It is hereby prohibited for pedestrians to cross any street intersection diagonally or to step into that portion of the street open to moving traffic at any point between intersections, on any arterial street, or between adjacent intersections on streets protected by stop signs, within the business district of the City of Renton, except at marked cross -walks or other places especially pro- vided. For the purpose of this Ordinance the business district of the City of Renton shall embrace that area from Mill Street to Shattuck Street between Second and Fourth Avenues and that additional portion of Third Avenue between Shattuck Street and Rainier Avenue, SECTION II. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and are hereby repealed and superseded.. SECTIO? III, Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in a sum not exceeding Five ($5.00) Dollars. SECTION IV. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THIS 27th day of July. „-, 195..
