HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1496ORDINANCE NO. 14.96 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, FIXING THE AMOUNT OF TAX LEVIES NECESSARY TO MEET THE AMOUNT OF ESTIMATED EXPENSES FOR THE YEAR 1955 LESS' THE TOTAL ESTIMATED REVENUES FROM SOURCES OTHER THAN TAXATION, INCLUDING AVAILABLE SURPLUS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The total amount of estimated expenditures required for the City of Renton for the year 1955 is the sum of $1,466,864.30 for ordinary expenditures, plus extraordinary expenditures in the sums of $6000,000.00 for the acquisition of a Power and Light System, $110,000.00 for the Williams Street Bridge construction, $100,000.00 for a Swimming Pool, and $117,000.00 for Street and Light Improvements; being a total - of $8,293,864.30, Ordinary and Extraordinary Expenditures. The total estimated revenues from sources other than taxation, including available surplus, is the sum of $1,218,293.10; the amount necessary to be raised by taxation is the sum of $248,571.20; and the amount to be raised for said extraordinary expenditures by bond issues is the sum of $6,827,000.00; being a total of $8,293,864.30, Ordinary and Extraordinary Revenues. SECTION 2: There is hereby levied and assessed against the taxable property, real and, personal, within the corporate limits of the City of Renton, Washington, for the purpose of raising the necessary revenues for said City for the year 1955 the follow ing amounts, to -wit: (Assessed Valuation - $16,571,414.00.) For Current Expense Fund 6.25 mills - $103,571.34 For Library Fund . . . . 1.50 mills - 240857.12 For Park & Athletic Fund . . . . . 2.50 mills - 41,428.$3 For City Street Fund . . . . . . . 3.75 mills - 62,142.80 For Firemen's Pension Fund . . . . 1.00 mills - X71.41 TOTAL . . . . . .15.00 mills - 6248,571.20 SECTION 3: A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be transmitted to the King County Commissioners as provided by law.
