HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1515ORDINANCE -NO. 15�5 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1307, AS AMENDED, ALSO KNOWN AS THE CITY OF RENTON BUILDING CODE, RE- LATING TO THE QUALITY OF MATERIAL USED IN BUILDING. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: Existing Section 2609 (a) MIXINGrof Chapter 26 -CONCRETE of the City of Renton Building Code (Ordinance No. 1307 as amended) reading as follows: "Sec. 2609. (a) Mixing. The concrete shall be mixed until there is a uniform distribut of o the materials and the mass is uniform in color and homogeneous. In machine mixing, only batch mixers shall be used. Each batch shall be mixed not less than one .minute after all the materials are in the mixer and must be discharged completely before the mixer is recharged. Machine mixers shall have a peripheral speed of approximately two hundred feet (2001) per minute. Ready mixed concrete shall be mixed and delivered in accordance with the requirements set forth in U.B.C. Standard No, 26-11.11 BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED T 0 READ AS FOLLOWS; AMENDED SECTION 2609. (a) Mixing. Concrete shall be thoroughly mixed in an improved batch mixer so designed and maintained as to positively insure uniform distribution of the materials throughout the mass. The mixing plan shall have positive means of measuring accurately each batch of water, cement and aggregates as elsewhere herein specified; and all scales, water gauges or other measuring devices, shall be so located that the entire proportioning and mixing operation may be readily observed by one inspector. Mixing in a mixer with worn out or broken blades shall not be permitted. After the ingredients are in the mixer, each batch shall be rotated for at least one minute before discharging. The entire batch shall be discharged before recharging. The volume of the mixed material per batch shall not exceed the manufacturerts rated capacity of the mixer. Machine mixers shall have a peripheral speed of approximately two hundred feet (2801) per minute. Ready mixed concrete shall be mixed and delivered in accordance with the requirements set forth in U.B.C. Standard No. 26-11. M SECTION II. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION III. This ordinance shall be in fall force and effect from and after its passage, approval and legal publication. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 14th day of June, 1955.
