AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
VACATING A PORTION OF 8th AVENUE NORTH, IN RENTON,
KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON.
WHEREAS, a proper petition for vacating portions of 8th Avenue
North in Renton, King County, Washington, as hereinafter more particularly
described, was duly filed with the City Clerk of the City of Renton on
March 5, 1956, signed by all the owners of the property abutting upon por-
tions of said street sought to be vacated, which petition was read at the
regular meeting of the City Council on March 20, 1956, and
WHEREAS, the City Council after due investigation did initially
fix the lith day of September, 1956, as the date of public hearing on said
petition and directed the Clerk to give notice of said hearing in the man-
ner provided by law and the City Council duly passed a proper Resolution
fixing and determining said date of hearing; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk
has duly caused notice of such hearing to be published and to be posted
for the time and in the manner provided by law; and WHEREAS said hearing
of September 4, 1956, was duly continued by the City Council of the City
of Renton, upon proper resolution, and notices of such continued hearing
having been duly published and posted as required by law, and said hearing
having been continued to October 2, 1956, and of such public hearing no
protest or objections to the granting of said petition or the vacating
of portions of said 8th Avenue North having been made, filed, or received,
and the City Council at said time and hearing having voted to grant said
petition for vacating, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the vacating
of the hereinafter described portion of this street is proper and advantag-
eous to all concerned and will serve the public interests and Tt ll not
cause injury or damage to any properties or persons, but the granting of
said petition is in the public interest; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RENTON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The following described portion of 8th Avenue North,
a public street; to -wit:
Thatortion of the north 80 feet of the
SW 1/ of Section 8, Township 23 North,
Range 5 E.W. M., between the boundaries of
the east margin of the Northern Pacific
Railway Company, Lake Washington. Branch
right-of-way and the west margin of Park
Street, all situate in Renton, King County,
Washington,
BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY VACATED; and such vacation shall be effective
from and after the J36t i day of October, 1956.
SECTION II: This ordinance shall be effective from and
after its passage, approval and legal publication as provided by law.
