AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A SCHEDULE OF CHARGES
FOR SERVICES RENDERED IN THE REMOVAL OF GARBAGE,
REFUSE AND SWILL AS DIRECTED BY ORDINANCE NO.
1416, AS AMENDED; PROVIDING CLASSIFICATION FOR
SAME; AND FOR APPEALS FROM DETERMINATION MADE
BY THE STREET COTff=SSIONER; AND REPEALIivG ORDINANCE
NO. 1417, ORDINANCE NO. 1426 AND ORDINANCE NO. 1535.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF TfIL CITY
OF RENTON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: That the following schedule be and the same is here-
by adopted, effective as of January 1, 1957, as a basis of classi fica-
tion and as a schedule of charges to be paid to and collected by the
City of Renton for services rendered by the City pursuant to Ordinance
No. 1416, as amended by Ordinance No. 158..
( A) Collection of garbage, refuse and swill from residential
dwellings shall be made once each week and the charges therefor
shall be as follows:
1. For"garbage cans" and/or "garbage units" as
defined in Ordinance No. 1416, placed not more
than 25 feet from the point of pickup:
Not more than 2 cans per week - - - - - $lr35 per month
3 cans per week - - - - - - - - - - - - 1.85 per month
4 cans per week - - - - - - - - - - - - 2.35 per month
5 cans per week - - - - - - - - - - - - 2.85 per month
2. For "garbage cans" and/or "garbage units" as
defined in Ordinance No. 1416, placed more than
25 feet but less than 60 feet from the point of
pickup:
Not more than 2 cans per week - - - - - $1.55 per month
3 cans per week - - - - - - - - - - - - 2.15 per month
4 cans per week - - - - - - - - - - - - 2.75 per month
5 cans per week - - - - - - - - - - - - 3.35 per month

3. For "garbage cans" nnd/or "garbage units" as
defined in Ordinance No. 1116, that are placed
more than 60 feet from the point of pickup:
Not more than 2 cans per week - - - - X1.75 per month

(B) Collection of garbage, refuse and swill from business firms
and commercial enterprises shall be made each week day and the
charges to be as follows:
1. For the first twenty (20) "Garbage cans" and/or
"garbage units" as defined in Ordinance No. 1416

2. Any 'garbage cans" or "garbage units" as defined
in Ordinance No. 1416 in excess of 20 cans
per month - - - - - - - - - - - 0 .15 per can per month
PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that the minimum monthly charge for each
such business or commerical account shall be the sum of $1.35 per
month.
SECTION II: All classifications as hereinabove provided
shall be on the basis of garbage and refuse volume and the classifica-
tion of each recipient of garbage service shall be determined by the
Street Commissioner of the City of Renton. Any person who shall deem
his classification improper may appeal to the City Council at the
regular meeting thereof next succeeding his classification, for re-
classification, and if it shall be determined after hearing that the
assigned classification is improper, then the City Council of the
City of Renton shall determine the proper classification for said
person.
The City of Renton reserves the right and vests in the street
Commissioner the dufy to fix special rates and prescribe special regula-
tions apart from he, above schedule for the collection of waste from

the construction or repair% ofbuildings, waste products from manu-
facturing plants, commission houses and other establishments producing
unusual quantities of garbage and refuse, or refuse of peculiar quality,
or refuse which may be thoroughly offensive or dangerous to haul through
the streets or alleys of the City of Renton.
SECTION III: Ordinances Nos. 1417, 1426 and 1535 are here-
by repealed, together with any and all other Ordinances in conflict
herewith.
SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force on the lst day of January, 1957, x after its passage, approval
and publication.
