AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION.I.OF ORDINANCE NO. 1377, RE.
HOLIDAYS AND.COMPENSATION THEREFOR.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIE, CITY
OF RENTON, AS FOLLU�!S:
SECTION I: Existing Section I of Ordinance No. 1377, reading
as follows, to -wit :
"SECTION I: It is hereby declared to be the policy
of the City of Renton that the following holidays be
established and recognized as legal holidays in each
year for employees of the City, without loss of pay:
January lst
February 22nd
Memorial Day
July �th
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
December 25th
(New Years Day)
(Washington's Birthday)
(Independence Day)
(Christmas Day)
If any of said holidays falls on a Sunday, the follow-
ing Monday shall be deemed the holiday. If working on
any holiday, employees shall be allowed a substitute
day off work, or in the alternative shall receive over-
time pay for such holiday worked."
BE AND a l E SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED, AS FOLLOWS:
"SECTION I, AS AMENDED: It is hereby declared the
policy of the City of Renton that the following be

February 12th
February 22nd
Memorial 'Day
July Lith
Labor Day
October 12th
November llth
December 25th
(New Years Day)
(Lincoln's Birthday)
(Washington's Birthday)
(Independence Day)
(Columbus Day)
( Veterans Day)
(Christmas Day)
together with a day on which any general election
is held throughout the State; and any day designated
by public proclamation of the Chief Executive of the
State as a legal holiday, or as a day of Thanksgiving.
Whenever any legal holiday, other than Sunday, falls
upon a Sunday, the following Monday shall be deemed
the legal holiday. If any employee is required to
work on a holiday, -he shall be allowed a substitute
day off work, or in the alternative, with prior approval

of the department head, shall receive overtime
pay for such holiday worked."
SECTION II: This Ordinance shall become effective from and
after its passage, approval and legal publication.
