HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1611ORDINANCE NO. & AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF RENTON FROM SINGLE RESIDENCE DISTRICT (R-1) TO RESIDENCE DISTRICT (R-3)• WHEREAS, under Ordinance No. 1472, as amended, and the maps adopted in conjunction therewith, the property hereinbelow described has heretofore been zoned as Single Residence District (R-1); and WHEREAS, under the provisions of the aforementioned ordinance, as amended, a proper petition for change of zone classification of said property to Residence District (R-3) has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Renton, which petition was then duly sub- mitted to the Planning Commission of the City of Renton, and a public hearing having been held thereon on May 8, 1957, at 8:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City of Renton, pursuant to notice of hearing duly published and posted as provided by law, and said Planning Commission having duly considered said petition, and no protests or objections having been made or filed at said. hearing, and the rezoning of said property hLs hereinbelow described, subject to the limitations specified herein, being deemed in the best public interest; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT C3 DAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: The following described parcel of property in the City of Renton is hereby rezoned to Residence, Distri:ct(R i3')and the City engineer is hereby authorized and directed to change the maps of the zoning ordinances of the City of Renton to show and evidence these changes; said property being described as follows: That portion of Tract A of Earlington according to plat thereof recorded in Volume 11. of Plats, Page 7, records of King County, Washington, described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the northwesterly line of said Tract A with the southwesterly line of Town and Country Club Bungalow Sites according to plat thereof recorded in Volume 19 of Plats, page 21, records of said county; thence south 71°45100" east along said south- -1- westerly line 337.04 feet to the true point of beginning; thence south 30'05t1211 west 40141 feet to a point bearing south 58036115" east from a point on the northwesterly line of said Tract A, distantel22.80 feet northeast of the most westerly corner thereof; thence south 58°36,15" east to the northwesterly line of State Highway No. 2; _ thence northeasterly along said northwesterly line to the southwesterly line of said plat of Town and Country Bungalow Sites; thence north 7M510011 west along said southwesterly line to the true point of beginning. EXCEPT that portion thereof described as follows: Beginning at the most easterly corner of the above described property; thence southwesterly along the southeasterly line thereof 65.31 feet to the true point of beginning; thence southwesterly along said south- easterly line 34.65 feet; thence north 37035100" west 16 feet, more or less, to the westerly line of State Highway No. 2; thence southwesterly along said westerly line 65.54 feet; thence north 37035tO0tt west 120 feet; thence northeasterly parallel with the westerly line of said State Highway No. 2 a distance of 8.35 feet, more or less, to a point from which the true point of beginning bears south 71045t001t east; thence south 71045100" east 163.29 feet, more-or.less, to the true point of beginning, EXCEPT roadsp and said rezoning to Residence District (R-3) being limited and restricted to multiple unit dwellings as per plans submitted, unless otherwise authorized by the Planning Commission and the City Council, all subject to the provisions of Ordinance No. 1472, as amended by Ordinance No. 1542. SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and. after its passage, approval and legal publication. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 21st day of May, 1957.
