HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1625ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, VACATING A CERTAIN ALLEY IN BLOCK 10, RENTON HIGHLANDS ADDITION, RENTON, KING COUNTY, WASHING- TON. WHEREAS, a proper petition for vacating that certain 16 -foot alley in Block 10, Renton Highlands Addition, in the City of Renton, King County, Washington, was duly filed with the City Clerk of the City of Renton on or about May 13, 1957, which petition was later supplemented and signed by all of the owners of the property abutting upon said alley sought to be vacated, which petition was on that day received and read at the regular meeting of the City Council, and WHEREAS the City Council, after due investigation, resolved to fix the 25th day of dune, 1957, as the date of public hearing on said petition and directed the Clerk to give notice of said hearing in the manner provided by law; and. WHEREAS the City Clerk has duly caused notice of such hearing to be published and to be posted for the time and in the manner provided by law; and WHEREAS a public hearing was duly held upon said petition on the day so fixed at a regular meeting of the City Council and no protest or objec- tion to the granting of said petition or the vacating of said certain alley having been made, filed or received, and the City Council did at that time vote to grant said petition for }:vacating, subject to certain reservations; and WHEREAS the City Council finds that the vacating of the hereinafter described alley is proper and advantageous to all concerned and is deemed to be in the public interest and will not cause injury or damage to any properties or persons, but the granting of said petition is in the public interest; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: The, following described alley, to -wit: That certain alley -way, 16 feet in width, as platted in Block ],_Q,,. -Renton Highlands Addition to the City of Renton, King County, Washington, -1- e . BE AND THE SANE IS HEREBY VACATED, RESERVIlgG;:0HOWE_VER, unto the City of Renton a perpetual easement for all public purposes and uses, said easement being 10 feet in width within said alley and being described as follows: The center 1v feet of the 16 foot alley in said block 10. Rent on Highlands Addition. SECTION II: This ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage, approval and legal publication as provided by law.
