HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1635-- ORDINANCE NO. /0 r AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON VACATING A CERTAIN ALLEY IN BLOCK 2:1, RENTON HIGHLANDS ADDITION, RENTON, KING COUNTY, WASHING- TON. WHEREAS, a proper petition for vacating that certain 16 -foot alley in Block 21, Renton Highlands Addition, in the City of Renton, King County, Washington, was duly filed with the City Clerk of the City of Renton on or about July 25, 1957, which petition was read at the regular meeting of the City Council on July 30, 1957 and WHEREAS the City Council, after due investigation, resolved to fix the 10th day of September, 1957 as the date of public hearing on said petition and directed the clerk to give notice of said hearing in the manner provided by law; and WHEREAS the City Clerk has duly caused notice of such hearing to be published and to be posted for the time and in the manner provided by law; and WHEREAS a public hearing was duly held upon said petition on the day so fixed at a regular meeting of the City Council and no protest or objection to the granting of said petition or the vacating of said certain alley having been made, filed or received, and the City Council did at that time vote to grant said petition for vacating, subject to certain reservations as hereinbelow specified; and WHEREAS the City Council finds that the vacating of the hereinafter described alley is proper and advantageous to all concerned and is deemed to be in the public interest and will not cause injury or damage to any properties or persons, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: The following described alley, o -wit: That certain alley -way, 16 feet in width, Block 21, Renton Highlands Addition, extending from 6th Place to G Street, in Renton, Xing County, Washington, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY VACATED, BUT RESERVING unto the City of Renton a perpetual easement for all public purposes and uses, said easement being 10 feet in width within said Alley and being des- cribed as follows: 5 feet on each side of the center line of that certain alley -way, 16 feet in width, situated in Block 21, Renton Highlands Addition, extending from 6th Place to G Street, in Renton, King County, Washington SECTION II: This ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage, approval and legal publication as provided by law.
