HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1643ORDINANCE NO. /( 't_3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY EXISTS AND APPROPRIATING MONIES FROM CITY. FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT OF THE NECESSARY EXPENSES AND CAPITAL OUTLAY NECESSITATED BY SUCH EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, since the adoption of the 1957 Annual Budget of the City of Renton it has become necessary to provide for the purchase of certain materials and supplies and to meet other expenses including capital outlay, all of which were not forseeable at the time of the adoption of the 1957 budget, including the relocation of water lines in the Kennydale area necessitated by the construction of a limited access highway by the State; and the relocation of a water line in the Windsor Hills area also necess- itated by the construction of a limited access highway by the State; and the laying of a water line on TMG' Place in the Renton Highlands and the relocation of other water lines in the Renton Highlands pursuant to agreements made with the Public Hous- ing Authority of the United States Government; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the proper administration, operation and main- tenance of the City, and especially the City's municipal water system to appropriate funds as hereinafter set forth for the payment of such expenses and capital outlay as enumerated above; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that approximately $35,000 will be paid to the City by the State of Washington and the Federal Government for the purposes above specified; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: That the foregoing recitals and facts are hereby found to be true and existing, and by reason thereof the City Council does hereby declare that an emergency exists. SECTION II: That there be and hereby are allowed and established the follow- ing sums for expenditure in each of the following classifications and said sums as appropriated for expenditure in the following classifications shall be in addition to the provisions of the said 1957 Annual Budget, to -wit: DEPARTMENT AND FUND CLASSIFICATION ITEM AMOUNT Water Maint. & Oper. Materials & supplies 10,000 Water Capital Outlay Windsor Hills Project 8,600 Water Capital Outlay "C" Place Water Line 62000 Water Capital Outlay Highlands Relocation 10,000 SECTION III: This ordinance is an emergency ordinance which shall not be voted upon until one week shall have elapsed after its introduction, and a copy thereof shall be published as a proposed Ordinance, together with a notice of the time set for voting thereon.
