AN ORDINANCE ON CITY 4TON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTIONS 9 . 3 and.9 OF TITLE IX (PUBLIC
WAYS AND PROPERTY) OF OPWINANCE NO._1628., ENTITLED
"CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON",

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS
SECTION I: Existing Sections 9-903 and 9-905 of Title TX
(Public Ways and Property) of Ordinance No. 1628, entitled "Code of
General ordinances of the City of Menton" reading as follows:
9_9t5 PERMIT FEEL The fee for such permit shall be the
sum of ten dollars (§10.00) -,,provided any such excavations
do not exceed twenty-five lineal feet in length, and in
addition to said sum of ten dollars ($10..00) a sum of
fifteen cents (x$.15) per lineal foot over and above said
twenty-five lineal feet. The Street Commissioner shall
furnish specifications for street, alley and roadway
restoration.
9 INSPECTION AND FEE: The Street Commissioner may,
if in his judgment the nature and type of work be such as
to require inspection thereof, either during the progress
of such work or after the premises affected have been restored
to its original conditions -or at both said times, inspect -
the same at the expense of tle permittee and said permittee
shall pay an inspection fee of three.. dollars (03.00) per
hour.
BE AND THE SAME ARE HERESY AMEND -ED AND COMBINED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:

9 PERMIT FEE: The fee for such permit for any
excavation as hereinabove defined shall be the stun of
four dollars ($►4.00) provided any such excavation does
not exceed thirty -Five lineal feet in length, which fee
shall include the inspection fee in cases of individual
service connections. However if the cost of such inspection
to the City exceeds said stun of Four dollars ($4.00),
then the permittee shall pay unto the City such additional
inspection fees as may be determined by the Street
Commissioner, not to exceed the rate of $4.50 per hour.
In case such excavation exceeds thrity-five
lineal feet in length, then the fee for such permit
shall be the sum of four dollars ($4.00) and an additional
fee of ten cents ($.10) per lineal. foot. over and above
said thirty-five lineal feet but such permit fee shall
not exceed the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00). In
addition to said permit fee, permittee shall pay an
inspection fee of four and 50/100 dollars ($4.50) per

hour. Such inspection shall, as may be determined by
the Street Commissioner, be conducted during the progress
of any such excavation work or after the premises
affected have been restored totheir condition immediately
prior, to such excavation, or at both said times.
SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication.
