HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1719'46a�'.yv� ORDINANCE NO. / 7I AN 'ORDINANCE OF THE CITYOF` RENTON, WASHINGTON, DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY EXISTS AND APPROPRIATING MONIES FROM CITY FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT OF THE NECESSARY EXPENSES NECESSITATED BY SUCH EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, since the adoption of the 1959 Annual Budget of the City of Renton, it has become necessary to provide for the expenditures of.certain funds, all of which were not foreseeable at the time of the adoption of the 1959 Budget, including the necessity of making repairs of certain streets and the installation of traffic control signals, -all of which are urgently needed to provide safety for the general public using said highway; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the proper administration, operation and maintenance of the City, and especially the City's, streets and highways, to authorize the expenditures of certain funds, not provided for in the 1959 Annual City Budget, but which funds have heretofore been paid to or are in the process of being paid to the City of Renton by the Boeing,Airplane Company and the Pacific Car & Foundry Company for the purposes above specified,.NOW THEREFORE, FOLLOWS: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL .OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS SECTION I: The foregoing recitals and facts are hereby found and determined to be true and existing, and-, by reason thereof the City Council does hereby declare that an emergency exists. SECTION II: There are hereby allowed and established the following sums for expenditures in the following classifications established in said 1959 Budget,, and said sums are appropriated for expenditures in the following classifications, same being in addition'to the provisions of said 1959 Annual Budget, to�wwit: DEPARTMENT AND FUND CAPITAL.OUTLAY TOTAL STREET DEPARTMENT FUND $ 9,160.00 $ 9,160.00 SECTION III: This Ordinance is an emergency Ordinance which .shall not f be voted on until one week shall have elapsed after its introduction, and a copy thereof shall be published as a proposed -Ordinance, together with a notice of the time set for voting thereon. -1- Y JT, w.• SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and legal publication.
