WHERENS, under the provisions of Chapter 128 of the 1955 Session Laws of the State of Washington, as amended, a petition in writing requesting that certain territory contiguous to the City Limits of the City of Renton, hereinafter more particularly described, be annexed to the City of Renton, was presented and filed with the Cita* Clerk of the City of Renton on or about April 24, 1959, which petition was then examined and checked by the City Engineer and Planning Director of the City of Renton to verify the signatures of said petition and to determine the assessed valuation of properties of the petitioners, and IMI RR9,AS it has been duly determined that said petition con- tained the signatures of the owners of more than seventy-five per cent (75%) in value according to the assess valuation for general taxation of the terri- tory for which annexation is petitioned herein, which petition sets forth the legal description of the property according to governmental legal subdivision or plats, and was accompanied by a plat or drawing outlining the boundaries of the territory petitioned to be annexed; and TAIEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton fixed Tuesday, May 12, 1959 at 8:00 P.M. at the City Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Renton as the time and place of public hearing upon the said petition, and a notice of said hearing; specify ng the time and place thereof, inviting all interested persons to appear thereat and voice approval or disapproval of or objections to the proposed annexation, has been duly published as provided by law, and true copies of said notice having been duly posted in at least three public places within the territory proposed for annexation as provided by law; and T4i-T,RFAS, pursuant to such notice a public hearing on said petition has been held by the City Council at the time and place specified in afore- said notice and all interested parties having been heard thereon.' and the Council having niven due consideration to all matters in connection with said petition and annexation,and it being deemed to the best interest of the City ,f Renton to grant such petition, NOW THEWT xbRE, BE IT ORDAINED BY ME 1` IYOR 1VD THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF Z, NTDN, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 128 of the 1955 Session Laws of the State of Washington, as amended, it is determined that above mentioned petition for annexation to the City of Renton of the }1- property and territory hereinbelow described be and it is hereby approved and granted; and the following described property, being conti7uous to the City Limits of the City of Renton, situated in Kin County, State of Wash- ington, be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Renton, and such annexation to be effective on and after the approval, passage and publica- tion of this Ordinance, and on or after that date said territory shall con- stitute a part of the City of Renton and shall be subject to all the laws and ordinances then thereafter enforced; said property being described as follows: That portion of Government Lot 8 in Section 17, Township 23 Plorth., Ran - -e 5 E.W.M. lying between the northerly line of Primary State Highway No. 5 and the thread of Cedar River as it presently exists; AND That portion of Government Lot 2 in Section lb, Township 23 North, Rene 5 E.W.M. west of the west line of the Puget Sound Power and Light Company transmission line right of way and lying~ between the north line of Primary State Hight%Tay No. 5 and the thread of Cedar River as it presently exists ALL Sl IU TE'D IN KING COUFTY0 STATE Or "..cr`I1TC-'JnN S7CTION II: The above described annexed property contiguous to Precinct No. 15 of the City of Renton shall be and constitute a part of Precinct No. 15 of said City* S"CTION III-.
