HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1306t ORDINANCE N0. 1306 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Renton providing for the appointment, terms of office, duties, and compensation of the Clerk,and Treasurer of said city; and repealing Ordinance No. 1272 and other conflicting Ordinances or parts of Ordinances. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Effective on and after the first Monday in June 1948, being at and after the commencement of terms of. office of officers of the City of Renton as a city of the second class under the laws of Washington, the offices of Clerk and Treasurer of said.city shall be filled by`appoint- ment by the Mayor and confirmation by the City Council in the manner pro- vided by such laws for appointive offices in second class cities. Section 2. The term of office of the City Clerk and of the City Treasurer respectively shall be two (2) years. Section 3. The duties of the City Clerk and of the City Treasurer i respectively shall be those prescribed by the applicable laws of Washing- ton. ashing- ton. Section 4. The salary and compensation of the City Clerk for the required duties of that office shall be the sum of $2.50.00 per month. Section 5. The salary and compensation of the City Treasurer for the required duties of that office shall_be the sum of $225.00 per month. Section b. Ordinance No. 1272 and all other Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section Z. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after June 7, 1948, following its passage, approval and publication. Passed by the City Council on,the 17th day of February 1948.
