HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1320N ORDINANCE NO. 1320 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTONI WASHINGTON, ANNEXING PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF RENTON: WHEREAS, under the laws of the State of Washington, and after proceedings.by the County Commissioners of King County thereof, the residents of that legal sub -division hereinafter described7 and known as Earlington, adjoining the City of Renton, voted in favor of annexa- tion of said legal sub -division to the City of Renton, after due and legal notice and procedure to that effect; and WHEREAS by its Resolution No. 10946 the Board of County Commission- ers of King County have duly certified to the City of Renton on June 77 1948, that a canvas of said election was duly had, with the follow- ing results: For annexation Against Annexation 88 and said Board of County Commissioners have duly certified the same, and transmitted the report of its canvas to the City Clerk of the City of Renton, together with a certified abstract of such vote, and the City Council of the City of Renton has heretofore adopted a Resolution requiring its corporate Counsel to prepare an Ordinance accordingly, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 2, Title 60, Rem. Rev. Statutes of Washington, it is determined that the petition and procedure for annexation to the City of Renton of the following described property be, and it hereby is approved and granted and I the following described property, being contiguous to the City Limits .ted of the.City of Renton, and situated in King County, State of Washington, be, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Renton, effective on and after the thirteenth day of July, 1948, and on and after that date said property shall constitute a part of the City of Renton, and shall be subject to all the laws and Ordinances of the City of Renton then and thereafter in force, to -wit: "Beginning at the intersection of the North Line of Columbia & Puget Sound Railroad (Chicago, Milwaukee St. Paul & Pacific Railroad) right of way with the East line of State Highway No. 5 in the Southeast quarter of Section 18, Twp. 23 North, Range -5 E. W. M., thence running Northerly along said East line 25 feet, more or less, to existing City limits of the City of Renton, in King County, Washington; thence continuing Northerly on said City limits line to the South line of Airport Way (also known as Dixie Ave.) a public street of said City of Renton; thence Westerly along the South line of said Airport Way and Renton Avenue extension to the East line of 90th Ave. South; thence South and southeasterly along said easterly line of 90th Avenue South to the East -line of.,91st Avenue South; __.. thence Southerly along said Easterly line of 91st Ave. South to the South line of the City of Seattle Pipe Line right of way; thence Westerly along the South line of said Pipe Line right of way to its intersection with the East Line of 82nd Avenue South extended North; thence Southerly along said East line and extension to a point some 140 feet NortherlVof f the most westerly corner of Lot 21, Block Earlington Plat as recorded insaid King County; thence North 72 degrees 501 West a distance of 166 feet; thence South 17 degrees 10' West to the'Northwest corner of Lot 8 of Ryan's First Addttion per plat thereof recorded inlaid King County; thence Westerly and Southwesterly along the South and Easterly line of 81st Avenue South to the Northerly line of State Highway No. 2; thence Southeasterly along said Northerly line of State Highway No. 2 to the North line of South 140th Street; thence Easterly along said North line -of South 140th St.'to the Southeast corner of Lot 24, Block 5, Earlington Addition according to plat recorded in said King County. thence South 17 degrees 10' East to the South line of State Highway No. 2; thence Easterly along saidjSouth line of State Highway No. 2 to the Northwest corner of Lot 15, Block 13, of said Earlington Addition; thence Southerly to the South line of South 141st Street; thence Easterly along said South line of South 141st St., a distance of 280 feet to the Westerly line of Lot 7, Block 14 of said Earlington Addition; thence South.l7 degrees 10' West a distance of 116 feet along said Westerly line of Lot 7, and extension thereof; thence South 72 degrees 50' East a distance of 80 feet; thence South 17 degrees 10' West a distance of 160 feet; thence South 72 degrees 50' East a distance of 40 feet; thence South 17d egrees 10' West a distance of 116 feet to the Northerly line of slid Columbia & Puget Sound Railroad (Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad) right of way; thence Easterly along the Northerly line of said rail- road right of way to the East bank of old Black River Channel; thence Northerly and Easterly along said East Bank Line to the Easterly line of the Bonneville Power Administration Seattle -Covington Lines right of way; thence Southeasterly along the Easterly line of said right of way to the North line of Columbia-& Puget Sound Railroad (Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Payl & Pacific R. R.) right of way; -2- thence Easterly along said North line of said rail- road right of way to the point of beginning.' SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days from and after its passage and legal publication, as provided by Law, and said annexation shall be effective on and after the thirteenth day of July, 1948;•and a certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the Board of County Commissioners of King County, and alike certified copy be sent to the Secretary of State, Olympia, Washington.
