AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DECLARING THAT
AN EMERGENCY EXISTS, AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $97..240.00 FROM
THE VARIOUS FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS NECESSARY FOR
THE PAYMENT OF SALARIES, EXPENSES AND -CAPITAL OUTLAY NECESSITATED
BY SUCH EMERGENCY, AS HEREINAFTER SET OUT.
WHEREAS, since the.adoption of the 1947 annual budget for the
City of Renton, there have occurred and will occur in its govern-
ment, departments, properties, facilities, services, and operation
thereof, various improvements, expansions, repairs, changes and ex-
penditures; and WHEREAS, by reason thereof certain expenses and
outlays will be incurred not heretofore provided for in said budget;
and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the proper administration, oper-
ation and maintenance of the City, its functions and, activities, to
appropriate the sum of $p97.240,00 out of the funds as hereinafter
set forth for the payment of salaries, expenses and capital outlay;
all of which could not reasonably be foreseen;
Now, Therefore, the City Council of the City of Renton, Wash-
i.ngton, do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: The foregoing recitals and facts are hereby found
by the Councii to be true, and by reason thereof the Council does
hereby declare that an emergency exists.
SECTION 2: That there be and hereby is appropriated out of
the various funds as hereinafter listed, the various amounts for
the several departments of said City, all of which appropriations
are in addition to the currently budgeted amounts for the said de-
partments and items, the sums set forth as follows:

SECTION 3: This ordinance is an emergency ordinance$ which
shall not be voted upon until one week shall have elapsed after

five days from and after its passage, approval and legal publicat-
ion as provided by law.
