AN OR.DINAtNCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, CREATING AND
ESTABLISHING A CIVIL SERVICE C012TISSION FOR TI -,-E FIRE DEPARTID NT OF TAT
CITY OF RE'NTON, WASHINGTON, AND ADOPTING CHAPTER 31 OF THE SESSION LAWS
OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTOR, FOR 1935®
The City Council of the City of Renton, Washington, do ordain
as follows:
SECTION I: That the civil service system set forth in Chapter
31 of the Session Laws of the State of Washington for 1935 -be and the
same is hereby adopted by the City of Renton, Washington, and all of
the details and provisions of said -Chapter 31 are hereby made a part
of this Ordinance as fully as if incorporated herein, provided however,
that instead of the provision in Section 7, of said Chapter 31 of the
Session Laws of the State of Washington -for 19353 requiring residence
in the City for one year; applicants for positions under this ordinance
must have been a resident of the City for ninety'(90) days only.
SECTION II: That there is hereby created pursuant to said
Chapter 31, a Civil Service Commission for the Fire Department of the
City of Renton, Washington, which commission shall be composed of three
(3) members and appointed by the IFIayor of the City of Renton. The
members of such commission shall hold office as provided in said Chapter
31, and shall have and exercise all powers and duties prescribed by
Chapter 31 of the Session Laws of the State of Washington for 1935.
SECTION III: This ordinance shall be in full .force and effect,
five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and legal publication..
