HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1218i e ORDINANCE NO.�� AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DECLARING THAT A PUBLIC EMERGENCY, OTHER THAN ONE CAUSED BY ANY OF THE HAPPENINGS SET OUT BY REMINGTON'S REVISED STATUTES, SECTION 9000-6, AIM WHICH EMERGENCY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN REASONABLY FORSEEN AT THE TIME OF MAKING THE BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 1945, AND APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL SUMS TO THE VARIOUS DEPART1VIENTS IN THEIR VARIOUS CLASSIFICATIONS TO PAY THE Int - CREASED COST OF FURNISHING MUNICIPAL SERVICES TO AREAS ANNEXED TO THE CITY. WHEREAS}, the City of Renton has annexed considerable additional territory, which territory has a large population and it has become necessary to furnish municipal services to such territory and the inhabitants therein, and WHERAS, when making the budget for the year 1945 it was not and could not have been reasonably forseen that it would be necessary to furnish municipal services to such territory and the inhabitants therein, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton find that an emergency does exist. NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City ,of Renton do ordain as follows: Section 1: That after careful consideration the City Council finds and declares that an emergency exists herein. Section 2; That there be and hereby is appropriated out of any monies on hand the following sum into the salary and expense classi- fications of the budget for the year 1945, to -wit: Fire Dept. Salaries - - - - - - - - $4050.00 Maintenance & Operation - - - - - -500.00 Total L550.00 Police Department Salaries - - - - $675Q.00 Expenses - - ----- - - - - -- 500.00 Outlay - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 4000.00 Total (11,250.00 Police Judge - Salaries - - - - - 225.00, -1- 'c This appropriation is made to provide the funds necessary for furnishing of municipal services to the areas annexed to the City of Renton. Section 3: That this ordinance shall not be voted upon until one week shall have elapsed afterits introduction, and that it shall require the unanimous vote of all of the members of the Council present, and the approval of the -Mayor, and that a copy of this ordinance shall be pub- lished as a proposed ordinance together with a notice of the time set for voting thereon before the day set for voting. Section 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days after its passage, ,a..,pQproval and legal publication as provided by law.
