Walton, City Clerk, x6502 Recommended Action: Refer to Utilities Committee Fiscal Impact: Expenditure Required: $ 362,554.50 Transfer Amendment: $ Amount Budgeted: $ 400,000.00 Revenue Generated: $ Total Project Budget: $ 500,000.00 City Share Total Project: $ SUMMARY OF ACTION: Engineer's Estimate: $329,991.39 In accordance with Council procedure, bids submitted at the subject bid opening met two of the three required criteria as follows: There was more than one bid, and there were no irregularities with the low bid. Regarding the requirement that the bid be within the total project budget: The low bid is within the 2012 project budget total, however, approximately $70,000 is currently under contract for engineering consultant services for the project. So an additional $100,000 in budget will be allocated within the 2013 capital budget to cover the project total, including construction, engineering, staff time and other project expenses. Therefore, staff recommends acceptance of the low bid submitted by Equity Builders, LLC, in the amount of $362,554.50, and authorization for $100,000 additional 2013 capital budget allocation to meet the total project budget of $500,000. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Award the contract to the low bidder, Equity Builders, LLC, in the amount of $362,554.50, and authorize a 2013 budget proposal of $100,000 for the Liberty Lift Station project. 6b. ‐ City Clerk reports bid opening on 6/12/2012 for CAG‐12‐083,  Liberty Lift Station project; six bids; engineer’s estimate $329,991.39; Page 4 of 42 6b. ‐ City Clerk reports bid opening on 6/12/2012 for CAG‐12‐083,  Liberty Lift Station project; six bids; engineer’s estimate $329,991.39; Page 5 of 42 6b. ‐ City Clerk reports bid opening on 6/12/2012 for CAG‐12‐083,  Liberty Lift Station project; six bids; engineer’s estimate $329,991.39; Page 6 of 42 CITY OF RENTON COUNCIL AGENDA BILL Subject/Title: Ordinance Amending RMC 5-23-7B Meeting: Regular Council - 18 Jun 2012 Exhibits: Draft Ordinance Submitting Data: Dept/Div/Board: Administrative Services Staff Contact: Iwen Wang Recommended Action: Council Concur Fiscal Impact: Expenditure Required: $ Transfer Amendment: $ Amount Budgeted: $ Revenue Generated: $ Total Project Budget: $ City Share Total Project: $ SUMMARY OF ACTION: An ordinance amending RMC 5-23-7B to clarify the time limitation for tax/fee audits as the audit year plus six previous years. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends approval of the Interlocal Agreement. BACKGROUND The City is a member of Community Connectivity Consortium (CCC aka. Fiber Consortium), a group of local government agencies comprised of local cities, hospitals, schools and utilities sharing resources to develop connectivity among agencies over fiber optics. The attached Consortium Interlocal Project Agreement supplements the original agreement by providing additional fiber optic from the north side of NE 4th St. approximately 150’ west from Monroe Ave. NE to KC-RCECC. As a result of this project, consortium partners gain fiber strands as detailed on the attached agreement. There are no costs to the City for this project. From this project, the City gains additional fiber to the Public works Shop building. cc: Jay Covington, CAO Iwen Wang, ASD Administrator Mehdi Sadri, Information Technology Services 6d. ‐ Administrative Services Department recommends approval of an  addendum for Project #63 to the Community Connectivity Consortium Page 11 of 42 1 Consortium Project Agreement 63 King County 401 Fifth Ave., Suite 600 Seattle, WA 98014 City of Renton 1055 S Grady Way Renton, WA 98057 Renton School District 300 SW 7th St. Renton, WA 98057 City of Kirkland 123 Fifth Avenue Kirkland, WA 98033 City of Bellevue 450 110th Ave. NE Bellevue, WA 98009 City of Seattle 600 4th Ave, Seattle, WA 98104 Valley Communications Center 27519 108th Ave SE Kent, WA 98030 City of Auburn 25 West Main Street Auburn, WA 98001 University of Washington 4545 15th Ave NE Seattle, WA 98105 Provide the King County Regional Communications and Emergency Coordination Center (KC-RCECC) a fiber connection to the Community Connectivity Consortium fiber backbone within the City of Renton and provide a future point-to-point fiber optic connection to the Cities of Renton, Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, Seattle, Auburn, Renton School District and Valley Communications Center to the KC-RCECC.
