A R�SOLUTION DECLARING T� ,NECESSITY FOR A MUNICIPAL
HOSFITAL, SPONSORING THE SA��b_�, AND rAUT��ORIZING TFi� MAYOR TO
.APPOINT A OSPITAL C ON�iTT"I�, ,AN'D GIVING SAID CtJI�QIT'I'EE FULL
PC1��R TO AS�RANGE�vTENTS �'OR A FEDERAI� GRANT t+V'I2'H WHICH TC7
Cf3NSTRT3CT T�iE A�'aRESAID HOSFITAL.
�REA�S defense plants coming into Ren�on will emplog
�� an addition fifteen thousand workers; and
VJHERE.AS the present housing facilit3.es of the City of
Renton are being increassd by t�.e building af a two tho�sand
�2040) unit housing pro�ect; an.d
tNI�REAS addi.tianal hou�ing facilities have been applied
for and will undoubtedly be allocated in the very near future
in the amount of dorimitorp un3.ts to serve 4�OOfl� and
WKEREAS the present hospital �facilities of �he City� af
Renton are inadequate to meet �he emerge�ncy caused by this influg
of workers and fami.lies; and
�NI3,ERE.AS there is no ather hospital in the vi.cinit�r which
is c�apable of handling the problem, theref'ore
BE IT RESC�LVED BY 'Z�3E GITY COUNCIZ 4�' TI�E CI�Y QF R�+�NT4N
THAT:
��'ir�t: That the City of Renton, sponsor, maintain and
operate a one hundred (1Q0} bed ho�pital to be erec�ed and equipped
with Federal Funds on land ta be donated for said hospital by the
City of �2entan, and that a Federal 'ttVorks application be submitted
�or a ta�tal grant far said hospita3..
Secc�nd: That the Mayor be authorized to appoint a
cammittes o� five �5� to be designated a�the �'Haspital Co�nnittee,"
with full authority to make and aomplete arrangements Por said pro-
posed hpspital an.d to sign all neces�3ry Federal Document� pertein-
ing ta the same.
Third: The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this
Resolution �Go bs published as soon as possible in the official
newspaper of the Citp of Renton, �lashirsgta,n,
