members of the Benton Volunteer �'ire vepartment i�ving petitioned the
City Council to p�rticipate in the benefit of said Act.
NOW, TF�REFCIRE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THF CITY OF i��N DO Oi�AIN
AS FOI,LO:yN:
S�CTION I. That there be arxl th ere hereby is created a
department to be known as the Renton Volunteer Fire Department. The
cnembership in said departmen.t is hereby limited to 25 members;
Provided however that said membership may be increased at any time by a
majority vote of the Gity Council.
SECTION II. That the City Council ny cY�e passage of this
Ordinance electa to adopt tne benefits of and at;rees to be bound by the
prov isi ons of and to pay the burdens created by ChFa„pt er 121 of the 1935
Session La�s of the State of t�ashington which said Chapter establishea
the Volr,nteer Firemen's He�ief and Conpensdtion Fund.
S�CTION III. That tibe Board of Trustees of the Volunteer
FiTemen�s �el ief and Compensati on flinri a s created by s�i�. act shall

consist of the 2�yor, who shall be ex-officio chairman, the City-Clerk
who sY�all be ex-officio Secretary ana Treasurer, one councilman, elected
by the �ouncil for a term o� one year and anr�u�.11y thereafter, the Chief
of the Fire Department , a� one member of the fire departc�ent elected
by the members of the fire depastment for a te� of one year and annually
thereafter.
SECTIOi�J IV. T'nat tne Board of Trastees of the Volunteer Fire men's
Relief a�nd Compensation Fund shall have all power and authority now or
hereafter vested in said board by the statutes of the $tate of �"rashington.
Said board shall perform all duties required of it by the statutes oE the
State of �ashington. It ahall meet on the first �,7ednesday following the
effective date of this Ordinance and adopt rules and regu]ations for the
conduat of its business and shall thereafter hold iis t�etin.gs and conduct
its business in accordance �eith said rules and regulations, this �rdinance
and t}ae statutes of the State of �ashington.
SECTION V. This Ordinance shall be in f1a.11 force artl effect
five (5) d�ps after its passage, app�ov�l and legal publication.
