Section 1: Tbat for tbe �ur�o�e o�` adopting a system
of house numbering in the City of Rentan, the city shall be
di�a�ded into two parts by a line pr o3 ected ea�terly and wester-
ly from tlr north line o� Bloek �4 in the Ori ginal Townsit e of
Renton. Streets and avsnUe� lying south of this line sha,ll carry
neither pre�i$ or suf�ix. atreets and avenues narth o�' this line
shall be designated as T'North". �outh of the line sboge describ-
ed �he method of numbering shall be as follows:
Seotion 2: Lot� frontin� on streets running North �nd
�outh shall be numbered from 100 up coneecutively, beginning at
the above described dividing line , one hundred numbers to the
block with one number for each twenty-five (25� feet of frontag�
or fraction thereof. The even n�mbers to be on the east and
the odd numbers on the west side of the street.
Section 3: On streets running east and a�est the lots
shall be numbered from 100 up can�estztively, beginning at a point
5'72 feet west from the west line of Sha�tuok �treet, one hundred
numbers to the hlock,with one number fo� each t�venty-f ive (25�•
feet of �rontage or �raction thereof. T he even numbers to be
on the north and the odd numbers on the sauth side of the street.
�ection 4: In that portion of the city north of the aboQe
described dividing line and east of the canal the lot� shall be
numbered in the s�une manner. On streets rUnning north ar�d soUth

the lots shall be numbered from 1�0 up consecUtively, beginning
at the north line of Firs t 9v�ue Nor th, one number to each tw enty�

Section 5: On streets running east and west the lots
shall be numbered �rom 100 up consecutively, beginning at the east
lin� of �illimms atreet North, one number to ea�h twenty-five (25)
fee�t or fra�tion thereof af frontage, one hundred numbers to the
b�ock. The even numbers to be on the north and the odd numberss
on the sou th si c�e of' the stree t.
Section 6: . Tha� portion o� the city north of First �treet

The numberir�g o� lots facing stree ts ru nning nor th .�nd s ou th shall�
commence with the numeral 1. On streets runnin� east ar�d west the
numbering shall cammence at the projected east line of Zake �treet
�vith. the numeral 400.
S�ction 7 : In all ca�es vuhere it ma�r become necessary .
to have more than: one number in any twenty-f�ve (25) feet of front-
age the use of ti�e fraction 1�2 is to be resox�ed to.
Section 8: That there shall be placed at each street in-
tersection a sign permanently affixed to a building, telephone or
telegraph pole shov�ing �he n�nes of the streets so interseoting,
the letters to be at least twa inc,h�s in height.
Section 9: All or din�nces and p�rts of ordinances in con-
�lict here�rith are to be repealed. ,
Section 10: This or dinan�e s1ia11 be in �°u 11 �orce and
effect five days irom and after its'�passage, approval and legal pub-
' �ication. �
