LICENSE F�E OF PINBALL MACHINES �iD �IMII�A,R G�S OF SKII,L 3,P71IT�iIN
THE CITY QF REIL�I`QN, WAiHINGTON, PR�VIDING A PENALTY FOR THE
VIOLAT IQN TH�REOF AN3) REP�ALING ALL ORDIT�TANCES OR FART� OF ORDIN-
ANCES ZN C ONFLICT �'VTTFI T�iE PROVISIONS HERE�NITH.
The City Council of the City of Renton do ordain as follows:
S�CTION I: � It shall be unlawPul for any person, firm or
corporation to own or t o have in his or its control or possession
within the City limits of the City of Renton, any pinball machines
or game o� skill, by the operation oY whieh it is possible Por the -
operator to receive through luck and skill goods, wares , merchan-
dise , money, tokens, hickeys, slugs or any other article of value
in excess of the amount of money deposited in said machine or
device , or paid f or the privilege of playing any such game. Or Por
' any person, Pirm or corporation to maintain or permit to be operated '
� any such machines or games on or in the premises owned b y him or it
or over which he or it has control within the boundaries o� the City
oP Renton, without first having secured and paid fbr a license f'or
each and every such machine, game or device so owned, maintained,
operated or permitted to be operated.
- S�CTION II: �aid lieense shall be obtained from the City Clerk
oP the City of Renton after application t,hiereYore has been made to
the City Council and permission given to such applicant by said City �
Council. No pe rson oY questionable moral character shall be entit led
to hold such license , nor shall any such license be issued �or a
machine to be installed in or on any premises which said premise�
in the opinion oP the City Council shall be unsuitable for the
operation of such machine . The license for each such machine shall
be attached in plain view to such lrachine , and shall license such
f'or operation on such premises as may be speciPied in said license .
�uch license shall not be transferable from one maehine to another,
nor may a machine licensed to any premises be transPerred to a ny
other premises.
SECTION III: The license f ee to be charged hereunder sha 11 be
and is i:�,,,� per month, and the license shall be issued for one �
. month at a time . Such license period shall begin on the Pirst day
,
of each and every month and end on the last day of such month. No
license shall be issued Por a Practional month, and any one apply-
ing for a license for the remainder of any month shall pay there-
fore the full amount required f or the monthly �icense . �
S�CTION IV: The owner, person in control or in charge of any �
pinball machine or game of' skill shall not permit any person under
the a�e of 21 years to operate such machine unless such person is
�� accompanied by his parent or a legal guardian; and it shall b e
4 illegal for any person under t he age o� 21 years to operate any
� such machine unless so accompanied by his parent or legal guardian.
� SECTION V: �ln.y person who shall violate or fail to comply with
any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a mis-
� demeanor, and upon convicti on thereof shall be Y ined in a ny sum not '
to exceed three hundred (�300 .00) dollars, or imprisoned in the Cit y
j ail f or any term not t o exce ed ninety (90) days , or b oth such f ine �
and imprisonment , and the license of such person may be revoked.

SECTION VT: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conPlict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION VII: This ordinance shall be in full f'orce and
efPeet Pive days f'rom and after its passage , approval and
legal publication.
