CALL TO ORDER:
The October meeting was called to order at 8:02 a.m.by J.Phelan.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Motion made by K. Parker, seconded by G. Taylor and carried to approve the minutes of the
September 23,2008,Regular Meeting. The motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE:
A request was received from Retiree 04192 for reimbursement in the amount of $225.96 for
smoking cessation medication. A motion was made by K. Parker and seconded by G. Taylor to
approve payrnent of the medication.
The physician of Retiree 09168 sent a progress note on the treatment of chronic back pain for
Retiree 09168. The physician's recommendation is to continue the massage therapy for 24 visits
a year. A motion was made by K.Parker and seconded by G. Taylor to approve the request. The
motion carried.

Board Members reviewed the claims processed under the Secretary's authority during October,
2008.

COMMENTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The proposed meeting schedule for 2009 is 8:00 a.m. on January 27, February 24, March 24,
April 28, May 26, June 23, July 28, August 25, September 22, October 27, November 24 and
December 15.
ADJOURNIVIENT:
There being no further business, K.Parker moved and G. Taylor seconded the adjournment of the
meeting at 8:20 a.m. The motion carried.
