Those who pass the written test are afforded an oral board interview. Applicants must have a passing score of 70%or higher on the oral board interview to be placed on the eligibility list. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Candidates must be US Citizen; be at least 21 years of age at the time of examination, have graduated from high school or equivalent,valid Washington State driver's license. Twelve (12) months Corrections/Jailer experience in the last 36 months to be considered for a Lateral Jailer position. EXAMINATION CONTENT: Written test is an hour test, consisting of 90+ mostly multiple choice questions, requiring at least a 75% score to "pass" the test. Questions cover various in the following areas: IPC Competency, Professionalism, supervision & Discipline, Proper Use of Force & Defensive Tatics, Inmate Mental Problems, Security Management, Report Writing, Pat/Frisk & handcuffing, Leg & Waist Restaint, Transportation/Unclothed Searches, Practical Law, and Fingerprinting. Passing candidates proceed to oral board interview, and must obtain a 70% Passing Score in the Oral Board Interview to be considered further. The total score consists 100% on the oral board interview results. Those who receive passing total scores are placed on the Eligibility List. However, during probation,he was off work on Family Medical Leave from April 13, 2009 through June 24, 2009, a total of 73 days. Consequently,there has not been a body of work to evaluate during the final review period. I request that the Commission extend Captain McGee's probationary period 73 days, from August 1, 2009 through September 11, 2009 so we can complete a final review of his performance. This request is based on Civil Service Rule 12.02, "....
