This Contract is entered into between THE CITY OF RENTON,WA, hereinafter referred to as the
"CITY," and CODE PUBLISHING COMPANY,hereinafter referred to as the "COMPANY."The
Contract covers codification,computer conversion,printing, and supplement service of the
RENTON MUNICIPAL CODE,hereinafter referred to as the "CODE."
GENERAL
The Company will provide print and electronic codification services as described in the following
sections, to include supplemental updates and optional distribution to outside subscribers. The City
will deliver to the Company the present Code text in ASCII format on computer disk and one
printed code book containing all updates. Periodically the City will forward to the Company new
ordinances which have not been codified.
COMPUTER CONVERSION: Folio Software
The Company will provide Folio electronic publishing services to the City. The complete Code text
and Folio Views 3.1 software are integrated and delivered ready for the DOS or.-Windows computer
environment. The Folio application and Code text may be loaded on a standalone basis or on
network file servers. Licensing permits up to 250 users,for City use only. The Folio electronic
edition is updated at the same periodic interval-a new infobase wholly replaces the prior version.
PERIODIC SUPPLEMENTS
The Company will provide supplemental update pages for the Code on a calendar schedule to be
determined by the City. Newly adopted, revised or amended ordinances will be forwarded
periodically by the City to the Company. Affected pages and the Code index will be revised and
rewritten to reflect these new provisions. The Company will edit and print text pages in the style
and format of the existing text. Supplement delivery occurs 4 to 6 weeks following receipt of the
last ordinance included in the update.
MISCELLANEOUS
This Contract can be terminated by either party upon 30 days'written notice. The Company will be
entitled to compensation to the extent of actual work performed,consistent with the Price Schedule
attached. Upon termination, the Company will deliver to the City original Code books and
supplemental material. This Contract may not be transferred or assigned without written consent of
both the City and the Company.
COMPENSATION
The City shall pay to the Company amounts in accordance with the Price Schedule attached
hereto and incorporated by reference as though fully set forth. The Internet access and maintenance
fees are payable to Municipal Research and Services at the time these services are rendered.
EFFECTIVE DATE
This Contract is effective upon signature by both the City and the Company.
