MINUTES
1. CALL TO ORDER: The January 10, 2008, meeting of the Library Board at the Renton Public
Library began at 7:00 p.m.
`"'�✓ 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Lynne Shioyama MOVED THAT THE AGENDA FOR January
10, 2008,be approved. SECONDED by Heather Nugent. The motion CARRIED.
3. REVIEW OF MINUTES: John Dubois MOVED THAT THE MINUTES OF December 13,
2007, be approved. SECONDED by Amy Pieper. The motion CARRIED.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
5. COMMLTNICATIONS: None.
6. FINANCIAL REPORT: The year-end expenditure report is not yet available.
7. MONTHLY REPORT: The monthly report will be completed and distributed when year-end is
received.
8. OLD BUSINESS: AUDIO-VISUAL AREA—Library Director, Bette Anderson, took the
Library Board on a tour of the refurbished audio-visual area and the new meeting room
(previously used to store back issues of newspapers and periodicals).
TALK TIME—The library's first Talk-Time was held in the new meeting room on Wednesday,
January 9 at 6:30 p.m. The two people who attended enjoyed the experience.
9. NEW BUSINESS: ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE—The Multi Service Center in
,,�, Federal Way wants to start an ESL (English As A Second Language) class at the Renton Public
Library. They will provide a tutor and hope to begin soon.

MEETING CHANGE—The next Library Board meeting will be held one week earlier because
of the St. Valentine's Day Holiday. The meeting will be on Thursday, February 7, 2008.
10. ADJOURNNIENT: The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. The next regular meeting of the Library
Board is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Thursd , February 7,2008, at the Renton Public Library.
